Man, I am laughing so hard because I totally get what you mean about NOT having to play! And 2112 was a great album, in my opinion...

  3. Are they charging separately for camping now? I can't get a straight answer from Famoso and then they give me the 800 for NHRA.Then NHRA tells me to call Famoso.
Last year was packed!Thats why i'm asking. For the last few years my lady and I would show up saturday morning, pay for both sat & sun.We find a good spot to set up a tent and camp out over night.
Are they still cool with that?

I have to say they arent on the ball this year. They had some screw up with getting passes out and the customer service is a bit sketchy.

  5. At least you're confirming that I'm not the only one thinking that things are kind of screwy over there.:D I guess I'll find out when we are there.

Is this the Number you called? 1-800-884-6472

  7. The Doubletree may be the host hotel for the event but the place to stay is The Red Lion hotel right behind it.

We book our room every year when we check out for the next years event. Hell.....Big Daddy was in the room next to us last time!

I guess what I'm saying is.........

    See you there!

Im staying across the the 99 from the Double Tree at the Hampton Inn on Oak Street..

  9. I think it was. But then they replied to my email with this.

The museum is controlling the event. I would say yes, if this is what you did last year and you are participating in the event. Camping is usually on the east side of the track, w/ the pits reserved for participants. I'd contact the museum for better information. http://www.museum.nhra.com/apcm/templates/general.asp?articleid=625&zoneid=41&navsource=contact

So I gave up.I'm not a participant, just spectating.:rolleyes:I'm just gonna show up.

wow..I would call the 1800# and demand you get someone who knows whats going on around there.

  11. I was tempted to do so,but just felt that it was not a big deal.If I were a participant then it would be a different story.

It's all good.Just asking here incase someone on the HAMB had the inside scoop.

Will be there Thursday through Sunday (hope) .
Staying at the track cuz we just like the smell. :D

And easier to get there in the morning.

    Still getting the car ready.

  15. Last I checked Red Lion is now the Rosedale Inn or something like that. I don't really pay attention though so don't quote me on that. Just thought I would bring that to peoples attention there may have been a name change of the motel.-Weeks

  16. Your right!

Just looked at our confirmation email....sorry for any confusion folks!

Dan Horan and I are doing it traditional and staying at the Vagabond where all the racers stayed back in the days before luxo chain motels. Makes it easy to walk to Milt's for breakfast too.
Any HAMBers are welcome to stop by our pit and say g'day as long as we are not thrashing on the car. AA/FD 890 parked alongside a retro silver Chaparral trailer. We should be up front with the rest of the top fuel cars as Dan is going up on Wednesday to get parked. I fly in Thursday and should be there by mid afternoon.

  18. Look for the Road Devils shirts & jackets...I'll be the English one....

  19. There's a bunch of us staying at the Red Lion..err Rosedale Inn as well.

If you see some "Stags car club of Ogden" shirts that be us. We will probably be hanging around fellow Stags member Jack Harris' pit. He's bringing both his top fuel car and funny car this year.

  20. For those of you showing up on Thursday the Hooters a little ways west on Rosedale has a "car gathering" on thursday nights, mainly late model stuff but every now and then a few of us with Hamb propper cars show up... Its within walking distance of Double Tree and Rosedale Inn. BBQ place in the same complex as Hooters has pretty good food also. Friday night is Sonic off of Olive drive about 2-3 miles from the motels and many Hamb friendly cars show up regularly. Just some things to do at night here. Idk what is going on at the host motels at night just what we have weekly I listed above.-Weeks

  22. I can't wait for the event. I fly in to LAX late Thursday night and will be in Bakersfield in time for last call. I'll be helping Jason Rupert with his N/FC all weekend and we're pitting with Gary & Steven Densham. I hope to meet some fellow HAMBers during the weekend. Look for Thee Inland Emperors wardrobe.
