My new project. 170 and a 4 speed. It was like a perfectly preserved time capsule when we picked it up. Wall to wall carpeting and stoner stickers everywhere. Figuring out paint now...

Thanks to Erock I'll be rollin' with some Black Sabbath or Judas Priest crankin' in the 8track!!

I think I partied in that van about 35 years ago! :D Is that a "Mr. Natural" sticker in the right rear door window?

  17. If it was I never saw it. I think I posted a request but never saw a reponse.

I will tell you, I have been driving the hell out of it and I'm enjoying everything about it. It rides really well, tracks great, pulls real hard for an engine that was stuck when I got it and it stops super-di-duper!

I have been talking with my wife and we have made some plans. We have decided to return it mostly to stock. Possibly solid cream color or a 2-tone with cream and blue. Stock wheels with dog dish or solid caps and black wall black bias plies.

Not sure yet on the interior. I think I want to skin the walls with something to cover the structure. The seats will probably have the only custom touch with diamond stich or tuck. The doghouse will also be covered. The floor will be rubber matting.

We have a beverage company called "Kustom Beverage Company". Our plan is to have a friend paint our logo on the side and use the truck for events and conventions.

What a blast. It is a madness!!

  18. BTW...I just searched and found my post on page 215 on the Photoshop thread. Unfortunately it didn't get done.

Mine made it to the Pileup... with only a few breakdowns (dropped a front ujoint, fried module, snapped clutch linkage), but it was fun. It's a BEAST. I'll post an update with photos soon

I saw you twice at HCPU. 1st time was at the red shirt meeting. 2nd time you ran to your van and you looked like you were in a hurry. Sorry we didn't have a minute to talk. I did crawl all over your van. You can tell the time you spent vs the throw together look of mine. See ya next year.

  26. Thanks man!

Mine doesn't look thrown together?!? Everytime there is a light breeze something falls off it.

The time I was frantically running around was probably when I came to the realization that the folder with EVERYTHING in it was missing, including my deposit slips and the armored truck driver was NOT amused. :D

Here's the van from another thread. I need to upload my other pics later.

A little update on mine. It moved under its own power for the first time in 20+ years. I took it around the block. Of course it uncovered more issues that I have to work out, but the important thing is that it went forward, backward, turned and stopped as expected.

    Later,
    Chad
