Rat, do you happen to know if these 1955 contact
prints depict a California operation? Looks as if these
cars have already have the hard parts removed and
areheaded for the ol' steel mill ladle.

The short-lived PREMIERE series is just under-appreciated.
Solid, powerful, sharp. My dad-in-law bought a canary yellow
'57 new, and it would pass everything BUT a gas station.
Amongst all my junk, I've kept a perfect NOS, never-installed
script just like the one below Jayne's left elbow there. (Inci-
dentally, this is the chassis that Packard tried to deal for to
build their '57 models, but I don't think FoMoCo much wanted
to help Packard out of the jam they were in.)

 

It sure is...it's out in the front parking lot; I've taken my kids to it several times....

Britannic, sister ship of the Titanic which sank in 1912.
By the time Britannic was commissioned, World War I was
on, and Britannic was commissioned as a hospital ship
and deployed in 1916 to evacuate wounded British and
ANZAC troops from the rough Gallipoli campaign. The ship
hit a huge mine (perhaps, German-made and planted on
behalf of the so-called "Young Turks") and went under
the waves in 56 minutes.

 

It was a '72, first year of the mark iv and the last year before the "5 mph bumpers" came out. I traded a '69 ford pickup for it. It was a beauty but the engine was really tired do I pulled it out and went through it. A friend gave me a set of freshly built 429 heads and I put a little bigger cam in it, nothing to wild but it brought it to life, and a set of headers. For such a heavy hunk of iron it would move right on out

I drove it to play gigs all over Oklahoma, Texas, Missouri, Arkansas and Kansas for a few years. It rode really nice

Man, I junked so many Lincolns & T-Birds in the 70's & 80's they ought to be rare as hell around here The last Mk I junked was about 5 years ago. It was so far gone it wasn't worth saving.

 

I actually have a 73 T-Bird with a 429 my Grandfather bought new.
40,000 miles.
And it's companion is a 77 mark V with a 460, and loaded.
Yeah......they ride great!
