Anyone know what speedo cable I can use to mate a original 37 Nash speedometer to a 350 turbo ******? The end of the cable that fits into the speedo has fine threads and screws to the inside of the speedometer. Cable is about 55" long, but I'm sure anything a little longer will work. Part number would help! I go to the parts store and the first thing they ask you is "year and make" to look it up in the computer. I tell them my dilemma and they just have this blank look on their face and they don't know what to do....
WOW a guy named Nash with a Nash Fairly unusual last name, at least here in my area Never having owned a Nash automobile, I am guessing here but ... early Fords used the same type of speedometer hookup you describe. ( shown in the photo ) and their transmission end bolts right to a Turbo with out any problems. A 1940 Ford speedometer cable might be the ticket. Available on eBay and most of the early Ford parts suppliers ( like **** Spadaro ). Worse case ... a decent speedometer shop can make you a speedometer cable with the ends you need if you have the end that goes into the speedometer head. I took this off that famous auction site I would not be surprised to find out that the original speedometer cable might bolt to the Turbo 350 Have you tried it. .
Well, that's how I discovered this whole mess. I recently bought the car and noticed the transmission was leaking. After getting under the car, I found that the nut on the cable was gone and they had wrapped some rubber hose around it and connect it with some hose clamps!!! wow....
