Coby, Scooters is closing at 6:00 pm on Friday night due to the home football game. Better get here early if you want your cheeseburger! For those of you who don't know, Scooter's on Rt36 east of Decatur has the best cheeseburgers in the world....and I have had a lot of cheeseburgers to know that....
Friday only Chad. Saturday night is the normal time of 8 but you better get there around 7:30 before they turn off the fryer.
More fun than a clown car on fire! what is a clown car by terms? I've heard easter egg cars(80's pastels), donk, but not as familiar with that one.
I wouldn't recommend it. Too much to see anyhow. Plus we've got a whooole bunch of food vendors at the show.
Well, you can get in, and you can get out, but you can't get back in. Besides, by the time you leave and come back, you'll have missed half the show. Get burgers on Friday (before 6), Saturday after the show (we start shutting down around 5 or 6), or Sunday on your way home. There will be a lot of great BBQ, grilled meat, and carny food vendors at the Pileup, plus popcorn & nuts, walking tacos, homemade ice cream, and a vendor selling homemade pastries and coffee in the morning!
About 12 cars and 18 people headed from Kokomo Indiana. We may run into the bubbas crew. We usually do.
The first year I've been to the pile up. Went to Farley this year,,always liked the Power Tour,,,,,, and a Drag racer myself,,,but really like this ratrod thing! Nice to go to a car event where shiny paint and mega-bucks are NOT the attraction. Driving down with three of my buddys Friday in my "ol 68 4 door six stick Biscayne" Looking forward to a hell of a time!!!
We have a group of about 20 cars leaving Chicagoland on Friday morning and following Route 66 to Bloomington and then Rt 51 to Decatur. Meeting spot is the White Fence Farm and departure time is 10:00 AM. Feel free to join us, the more the merrier.
hey plowboy.... i here this is only like 10 min from your house...mind if i drop a truck and trailer in your back 40. i would have to leave at like 2 in the morning to get the by nine if i drove the phaeton all the waytk
Ya know the little circus car that all the clowns climb out of. Now just picture that crammed full of annoying stupid clowns and set on fire! Fun Right?
I'll give a big unofficial plug for Back Porch BBQ. I'm sure there will be lots of great vendors, but this guy has ribs figured out! Mmmmmm..... Ribs!
Hellfish, Is there a flame contest this year? I know insurance said no last year. We are leaving St.Charles friday at 1 if anyone wants to join us. Coupla cars, trucks and choppers are meeting as of now. 80* both days and sunny with mid 50's at night.
I also know of a vendor thats been with the HCPU for the last 7 years that has the best Corn Dogs, Curly Fries, T-loins and don't forget the Lemon & Strawberry Shake-ups!!! Not bragging, but....
4. Trailers are NOT allowed! Vehicles seen at Progress City on a trailer will not be allowed into the show, not even in the parking lot. The only exception to this rule is race cars and projects cars that are not street legal (e.g., dragsters) and who have received pre-approval from the Chrome Czars. Off the website ,just saying...
well lets help them out like last year and take pictures of all the trailer queens we see on the way to the show .
