Truly a rolling art work of metal sculpture. I read in the build thread that it was painted a Root Beer color, yet in this thread it looks purple or a deep maroon or Oxblood. Is it still Root Beer? If so, what makes the color appear changed? I love it.

Kirk, Do you know the name and brand of the paint? Wonder why it was repainted.

A few more pics. You can see how the color looks different in different light.

God yes!! A couple inches up in the front and a 41 ford front bumper would help that car so much!!

  21. I don't think it was repainted it just looks very different from one picture to the next.

Awsome car and outstanding work done by all involved.

Congrats, that's a well deserved award - I really enjoyed the build thread and was very impressed by the workmanship.

  23. X2--this car is so frikin clean, especially that interior. I was standing next to it at Beatnik Bash when they started it and drove off, thing purred like a Kitty high as a kite on katnip! Beautiful car, Congrats Bugs and Troy:cool:

  24. 19Fordy -

I really dig the color too ... and was wondering the same thing.

According to the show sign that KIRK! posted, the paint color is "Cherry Amber Red" ... I'm thinkin' it is a custom mix as none of the Automotive Finish companies (PPG, Dupont, HOK, Sherwin-Williams, etc.) list a color by that name.

OK HEMI32, Your job (should you decide to accept) is to get all the info about that paint formula for all inquiring minds. :)

There is nothing I don't like about it other than the fact that it's not mine.
