Had a friend who's sister bought this car and renamed it Rasputin and colored it dark purple.. Ran it a couple of seasons before they either sold it or???? Also does anyone remember either fo these cars - the Kelvinator (An AMC hornet wagon) or the Corwin & Short /Johnson car...It was painted like an american flag.....
You talking about Bob or Pink, Peggy Pierce's brothers? Actually that one they named "Pegasus", Rasputin was a '55 or '56 Corvette. They lived right down the street from us in Aurora. Brian
That's right...hell been so long I got the cars mixed up.. I remember the parents lived on the 500 block of Elmira (we lived 1 block over on Empire)and sometimes the car would be parked there on the trailer... I remember a kid named I think Donnie that lived there and was always messing with Bikes and making them into different looking things...
We lived on the 900 block of Kingston. Rick and Peggy lived just down the street in the cul-de-sac. Was that Peggy's mom that lived on Elmira? Seems I remember a Donnie... Been a long time. Brian
Rootie Katootie and Funny car 65 have posted some of my copyrighted photos and I want them removed. See www.dragpixbypete.com "Pete" Garramone
Better make sure they were your pictures to begin with. Throwing a copyright on someone elses work sucks. Just saying. Brian
Dan Widner did own the rear motor car that eventually went to the Kaiser Bros. but I don't believe Dan ever campaigned the car outside of Colorado. The car had an M/W chassis and Widner couldn't make the car behave itself. Jr. and Jerry took the car to Pamona which is where Don Garlits (who was running a front motor car) checked the Kaiser Bros. car over very carefully and then went back to Florida and built his own rear motor car and incoporated a wing and, as they say, the rest is history. I'll have pictures of that car on my website soon. www.dragpixbypete.com "Pete" Garramone
WWW.DRAGPIXBYPETE.COM If you're looking for Colorado drag racing photographs, check out my website. The drag racing pictures that you saw on coloradoracingmemories.com are there. All of the pictures on the site were taken by me except where noted. You will find still shots and action photos as this site grows from 1953 and up and they're all copyrighted. Speakers on when the first page comes on. Let me know what you think of the site. "Pete" Garramone

Any one remember Earl (Fuelin Farmer) Binns From Iowa? He ran CDR quite often and was very competitive.
Jerry told me the same story @ Garlits checking it out.Garlits got all the credit for bein the "1st."
I went to Cherry Creek when they were building the new one around '73-74 and we were on split schedules. I graduated in '76 in ippississiM, though... I remember that one, I believe. Used to see it once and a while on Havana, if I recall correctly. Brian
I'd like to post a photo or two but, when I click on "insert image" it asks for a URL. How do I post my own images as I have about 1000 of them taken at all the tracks around the Denver area from 1953-1972? www.dragpixbypete.com is my website and it has a lot of them with more to come. "Pete" Garramone
Pete, drop down when you post a message to the box "Go Advanced", from there you can add multiple images in a post by putting them in the "Manage Attachments" box.
Ok, I'll give this a try. Someone was asking about Earl Binns. Here's a 1971 photo I took back in 1971 at CDR. There's more at www.dragpixbypete.com I was a freelance photographer back then and I copyrighted all of my images. "Pete" Garramone
I remember the day the Kenz & Leslie 777 funny car picture in post #175 was taken at Thunder Road. I am the skinny kid under the car with Roy Leslie. On the next pass the stub shaft broke and the rear end was locked up, we pulled the car off the track with a floor jack.
Does anyone know who this is? See the answer at www.dragpixbypete Chain driven blown Pontiac and a consistent class winner . Photo taken at Continental Divide Raceways. "Pete" Garramone
