Nice 1936 Ford 5 window. The Packard girls should switch to Miller Beer.

I'd just like to thank Ryan for giving us a place to play! It is no secret that there are far more "Antique" or Historic" car guys and gals here on the HAMB than any other site. The old photos may not be true Hot Rods, but thay played a very important part in laying the foundation of all the future Hot Rods and Race cars that followed. :)

Amen to that. We've had some good fun with this, and learned a bit along the way. I never get tired of looking at old photos, especially those where the people or human interest make the vehicle that much more interesting. There have been some cool gow job T's posted here, but here is a snow job T. And I'd say these folks were having some fun. Can anyone ID the car at left? Check out all the ropes on the TT worm drive rear end - what (or who) do you think they were towing?

Square Deal Garage, Morrisville, NY. This was way before look-alike gas stations.

Looks like a late teens/early 20s Model T coupe or sedan.

I refrained from posting this on the racing history thread. Wouldn't want anyone to think there was a link between racing and drinking, and for all I know, Bowie was a horse track.

Early "snow job"! Now that's punny, Twin6!

And 37Kid's comment is a classic of succinctness. WELL said! (AND, thanks to Ryan & his posse for overhauling the HAMB tech issues this weekend. Seems to be hitting on all cylinders!)

    Here's another un-ID'd auto -- 1918 -- from
    the American-Automobiles site. SHARP car!

Jimi..... That is a Roamer (look at the signs on the building) which had a Rochester-Duesenberg engine 8-valve walking beam engine similar to this Duesenberg racing engine.

This is as good an example of any on this thread of how the people can make the photo special. Each time I have gone back and looked, I see something else and I am still wondering what they were doing. Their smiles are contagious!

TWIN, you are SO right! You can almost sense the audio that went with this happy getaway scene! Two gals, two fellas. And didn't we just mention picnic shots? Some things never get old. Back then, those fortunate enough to have a car could "escape" the hum-drum for an outing in the fresh air and sunshine. Been there, done that with my parents, brother and sisters! And, though we may have made fun of people drinking and driving, here, the folks brought their drink of choice: MILK! Alright!

Swedish engineer/entrepreneur Henry Nyberg in one
of his 1903 Nyberg runabouts. Pretty quickly, Nybergs
established a rep for quality and reliability, leading
Henry to open a plant in Chattanooga, TN. Nybergs
used a Rutenber 6-bangertoward the end of their run,
which was 1903 through 1913 when Henry reaped his
profit and returned home to Sweden! Today, there
are only THREE known, one out West and two in the
hands of Corky Coker and his dad at their Tennessee
    base-of-ops.

    Last-year 1913 Nyberg seven-passenger tourabout. If you
ask me, it looks rather like the Big Brown Luverne, same era.

A 3rd series 8 Packard phaeton (1927) in Greece. The spare was mounted aft, which gives the front end of the car an exaggerated long look. Check the sheep up on the hill.

Hey, gang, check out this 1902! Am I the only one who never
saw a car cranked from the SIDE? I guess it would make sense
to me if I knew the make and where the engine was located
    (directly under the driver floor?).
