Got the rear suspension and steering assembly installed..almost a roller. I need to find my rear u bolts..misplaced them. The steering set up is a 50 F-1 box and shaft with the upper part of a 40 Ford shaft pinned and welded on to the top of the 50. Did this so I had a keyed top for the 40 Ford steering wheel that I'm going to use.

Going to get the rear up on jack stands tonight and should be able to drop the motor and tranny back in.

Wow! Jerry those colors look really cool! What are you doing for carb linkage? I DON'T reccomend the eelco 6x2 kit, btw...

thanks the maroon is a little bold...but this is kind of a 60's era style build so I think it works. Once the body is painted and the top is on...everything should flow together.

I'm going to make a throttle linkage system from stainless rod, dog bone clips, and small heim ends like what was on my roadster...cheap and easy.

She's a roller......almost....just picked up my wheels from Universal Tire in Hershey...Firestone whitewall 7.00's in the rear and 5.50's in the front. I need to put my front brakes on but I couldn't help sliding them on to take a peek

I think I'm really gonna dig this color combo...I can't wait to see it come together. The motor looks wild...I think you ought to change your Hamb name to "Six Dueces" (ha-ha). Keep up the good work!

Wow, that has me in tears... What a beautiful build. You have a great set up as well. I love the pic of the axles drying. Too cool. I can't build a model car, then you see things like this and realize it's time for me to put the skirt back on..

Awesome man!!! Can't wait to see when it's done... Subscribed

Had only about 20 mins tonight in the shop..but that was enough time for me to throw my trim rings on the buffer machine. This is an old original set that was crusty but cleaned up nice

A super late night in the shop last night working on the removable hardtop that's in the works. I'm taking a break from the chassis as it's now a painted assembled roller so I can concentrate on the body the next couple of weeks.

Me and fellow HAMB'r Koz are making a top out of aluminum. We spent last night making a top from cardboard so we could get the shape and proportion just right. After a bunch of adjustments we got it pretty close. When things are spot on..we'll carefully mark everything..cut the cardboard top apart and will transfer it to aluminum pieces. We'll alse be making an inner support structure out of aluminum also. Here's a few pics. We started with a 10 foot long sheet of cardboard and some tape.

I moved the visor up a half inch so it flows better into the top...the cardboard is sagging some in the middle..but things will lay right when transfered to metal.

This is going to be interesting. The aluminum top can either be something so rad or it could easily fuck the whole car up. Judging from your green roadster and the progress made on this one it won't be the latter of the two. Are you going to cover the aluminum in a leather type material that the originals had? That would look pretty awesome if you did. Might also be nice to see in a carson top material which would look great against those colors.

It will be covered eventually when I have the bread to do the interior...carson style

It will have a back window like a stock model A sport coupe...the cardboard is just a template for the shape

Tonight we started cutting the top apart..cleaning the templates up and transferring them to aluminum. Lots of work to go. Back at it tomorrow.

Judging by the pics & how cool Koz's aluminum top on his old ride turned out , this one's gonna kick ass !
