This one I did last year, pic is before drill and tap holes for 3/4in. alum plate to hold 471,this is for a Ford Y-block,made from a cast 2bbl intake milled out and then brazzed 1x1in. frame to it. Pop-off in back.

Theres nothing at all wrong with a Q-Jet on a Pontiac! Mine always ran better at the track with the Q-Jet than any Holley I had on there with my combination.

Snap some more pics of that beauty!

I made this one to adapt a M90 Eaton blower to a Jeep 4.0 head . The head goes on a 232 AMC .
Not the nicest one , but it s the first time I build this and it should work ..

The worst part was the 1/2 flanges , hand made with a small press dril and die grinder . It took me days ...

Where the hell is MOOSE on this thread. That Boston boy has built more intakes for inlines than I've seen factory produced. Post some pics brother!

Here is a video of a blown IH 345. Not mine, but the cool factor is way up there, and it is further proof that a handmade intake can be done for just about anything.

    I dig these.

Log style 6x2 manifold. They used to make kits for these for Y blocks, but I don't think they do anymore. I know they do for nailheads and hemis.

If anyone out there has one of these "U-Fabs" for sale for a y block, please let me know.

    Thanks - Speed

I make everything first in wood. It saves huge time and $. When i am happy I copy in metal. Even frames . front axles , intakes whatever. Wood ,glue and screw it together and hopefully make all the goofs in $5 worth of wood then massage it til I like it and then make the final one in steel or aluminum. Even made a Jeep body from wood and glue after taking a pattern from a YJ. Vern has it now.
The engine? Jag 3.6 24 valve aka Jag Slant six.

Off topic so I won't post the name of the car, but it started as an unrepairable mess of emissions vacuum lines and controls, and a pathetic downdraft carburetor too small for the engine. Now it has a couple of Vintage Su's carbs and is turned into a totally different manifold. All I used of the original was the mounting flange and a short section of the runners. everything else had to be fabricated. Mounting adapter plate, linkages, choke pull assembly, brackets, etc. The company my stepbrother works for in Atlanta did the Tig welds, the factory here didn't have a water cooled torch to do the welds. those welds are full penetration through the plate, I had to flycut it flat again. Sorry if it's off topic but I figured someone might appreciate the several hundred hours in making all the stuff to make this work. pardon the wires and stuff it's still in mock up. some of us young guys still put a ton of work into cars most people call junk. :D

this is what it started life as,I just cut and removed about 80 percent of it. the engine is also angled back so i had to make sure to get the angles cut right on the runners when i machined it. [IMG]
