I'm sure by now you've seen my thread "2010 Hunnert Car Pile Up 735 Photos". This was a vantastic show, thank you for all of the effort to put something like this on!

My only concern now is, will my truck get in the show when it's finished? Can any of you Czars check my build thread and comment? http://www.jalopyjournal.com/forum/showthread.php?t=433245

Thanks again! Look forward to 2011.

Totally appreciate and very grateful the pileup was a well organized show this year! My car is always granted access, no problem, BUT, given the strict criteria, I was still disappointed with the number of "stock appearing" cars, especially early sixties cars that just looked like rusted out cars missing the hubcaps and such. Seemed there were more than ever, and there were SO many cool cars out in the parking lot too! I'm guessing some of them were just driven there for the sake of driving them, but I think several cars were out there because they were directed there instead allowed into the show itself. I couldn't believe one of the coolest cars in line up ahead of us was dead ringer period perfect and was denied access into the show. Sure it was stock appearing, but it was beautifully painted '64 model in shiny black paint with chrome steelies, just like you'd see back then.
Any way the show could actually take place in the concrete parking lots and around them like where we were staged early in the morning? The cars looked so much better and were much more photo-friendly than when parked in the field area.
Anyway, thats my thought on the show. Thanks again for all the hard work it took to make the show happen this year!

Czars, GREAT SHOW!!!! It was my 7th and I can't wait for #10!

The police in all the surrounding towns were really cool to all the hot rodders who rolled into town. The Clinton police were especially cool during the pre-show party. The town closed the city center and even the Voodoo Kings flame and explosion show only drew their curiosity. The post-show party was more sedate, but the cops were cool and polite.

The hotel welcomed us, asked if we were there for the show, and made sure we had a Pileup flier right at check in... :)

I met Max Grundy and purchased a really cool print, as well as a few prints from Keith Weesner. Two really nice guys who make some cool stuff. I also patronized several of the lesser known artists and bought my Model T a few shiny goodies.

... oh and I looked at some cars :D.

    Fun times!

I was really impressed by this. Czars, you guys sure did some footwork. To have fliers and maps at the hotel check-in desks was awesome. Most guys are so concerned with getting to the show that they don't know when the gates open. Props to Decatur and Clinton for rolling out the welcome mat.

I've seen your thread, but the bigger question is why do you think it would not?

then everyone would complain about the hard walking surface, cramming cars too close together and how it looks like every other cars show. Besides, those lost are needed by the students at the college. We were lucky to be able to use them for staging.

We asked the Clinton police about flame throwing and they siad they couldn't find anything in the books prohibiting them. :D

Yes, that was our idea, but the Decatur Convention & Visitors Bureau made it happen by printing and distributing the fliers for us. The whole town was really happy to have a bunch of crazy hot rodders in town!

Yeah Yeah Yeah post to one thread for the first time and it gets all Hijacked and turned into a Shoe love hate fest........Good seeing you as always Rashy and Tyler too......Part of the OG parking lot gang:rolleyes:

Yeppers still hanging in there missed Sturgis and Bonneville because of my father p***ing away back at the end of July....But,all is well and back at it now....See ya the next summer...

Mike take a day and come south and spend it with me and we will hold wrenches together and finish mine first....Generator and paint and I am rolling.....:D

  14. i have caught hell fom the wife the last 2 years for leaving town on my birthday for the pile up, i cant help it ,its my favorite show because its 3-4 hours from my house. the drive is the best part,if we ever make it to boneville that will be even better, its about the drive.
the constructive critisism i have is, could the cars be checked while staged , then when the gate opens the ok stickers are already in place , just pay as you roll by. seems it might make the waiting in line and overheating problem a little less. thanks for a great show
