Not painting my chevy block orange ?

I did my 283 in POR 15 55-57 RED...it is a dark red. Looks good to me.

I have always liked the gray that McCormick used on there tractors

 

Just paint it.....

 

I went with single stage Dupont black on my '56 265 Engine. It'll have fully polished (in between fins as well) Offy VC's with gold offy block, smoothed over exhaust manifolds, Clear red spark plug wires, and a WCFD Weiand 4x2 intake with 94's on top. I don't think there is a better color then shiny shiny black for and engine....besides GOLD haha!!!

 

I do all mine black.

 

I vote for black and gloss for easy wipe down.

 

Gold is a great color for a motor-as long as it compliments the rest of the car. Any color is great as long as it compliments some aspect of the build-either by contrast or color match-Paint the motor a color that looks right for the car. IE;Orange motors don't look right in red cars,blue motors don't look right in green cars,etc IMHO

 

A pal of mine did his engine and firewall in luminous white. Yes, It really glows in the dark!

I'm kinda partial to plaid. A traditional McGregor tartan.

 

Everything I do is ford red, even Ford engines.

 

So have you decided on a color yet?

I kept looking at the black GM crate engine in my T-Bucket and just didn't like it. So i rebuilt the 327 that came in it and painted it Chevy orange because i plan on repainting the car Hugger Orange. I think something like gold or yellow against black primer would look pretty slick.

 

Going universal gold....here are some pics , also using aluminum heads going to paint them also.
