so i have only seen one other of these things and it wasnt this style. this one is adjustable. the middle splits apart to make the lens go father apart. just seeing if anyone out in the hamb land knew who made this? damn cool find i never thought i would find one. the ones that are pictured on this website is the other syle one and not mine.
The guys with the bombs are into those. I have notice alot of yellow passing lamps latley on rods. Did they use them together?
my friend has had one on his 1950 Hudson Hornet for several years. I've seen two at swapmeets this year but they are rare.
Um thats wrong not at all how it is supposed to mount! They even put it on backwards the bigger mirror is supposed to look forward to see to pass Dave Hitch
they are an aftermarket part from the 50's used for looking around the car in front of you so you can pass them.
Eeek! It looks like a super-ultra-rare and desirable 'dealer-installed' accessory for a '36 1/2 Henway "Camel Toe" '9-passenger. close-coupled coupe!!! Is there an etched on, 'Hen-CT-C9-666' part number, or a special 'leap-year commemorative' 02/29/36' casting date on it anywhere, by any chance? If so, it's even more rare and desirable than even the "normal" ones and worth twice whatever the amount was that you paid for it! I don't understand. How does this work? How can you look around the car in front of you, other than just using your eyes of course? How is this useful? I'm guessing there is a good reason why they are so rare.
Ever looked at a "bomb"? Every accessory ever made gets put on those cars... I know a guy who uses the "passing" mirror as a curb guide, he doesn't like the way curb feelers look.
pretty cool, that one looks identical to mine. i get asked about it all the time..i didnt know what it was, it came with one of my merc projects, sold the car kept the mirror cool
An old guy explained to me it let you see ahead a little further (past the vehicles in front of you) without sticking your head out of the car or going partway into the passing lane when there might be traffic coming you couldn't see without the mirror setup. That's what he said, whether it worked or not??? Chris
I've only seen a couple. They were all mounted to the top of the door frame, as they were also running side mirrors. Never seen one mounted on the bottom of the window, backwards no less . I guess I'd rather have a side mirror down there, than a seldom used accessory. Well maybe a dummy spot, waaaaaaay more practicle and usefull.
i have one on my ford it,s a fun thing has someone said you can see a car coming at you and look at the car behine you at the same time
