We should have a thread just for rear suspension pictures. So show us what you have, 3 links, 4 links, coil overs, transverse springs, panhard bars, split wishbones post as many as you have pictures of.

Can't post pictures from here...but I put Chevy truck arms a custom wishbone and a Winters Quick Change my 54 Stude wagon.

Take a look at my 60 Lark for the front and rear suspension and my 54 Conestoga for the rear truck arm installation.

Aha!! So I'm not alone, I've been thinking independent rear and rack and pinion too. My wife caught me crawling around under the rear of her mark viii and threatened death by frying pan if I started stealing parts off her car  :D

I explained very quickly that I knew where was one in the junkyard and I was just getting measurements :p

That rear looks like it's fitting up pretty good, front too. What did they come out of?

Here is mine on my 53 Chevy Full Custom.

On the stock 53 frame the rear spring hangers are on the bottom of the frame. We moved them in and up. This plus a Gambino notch kit and a set of Posies Super Slide 3 Inch drop leaf springs brought the rear down a total of over 8 inches, possibly a bit more. It also maintained full suspension travel. Plus with the the rear shackle choice I can adjust it up or down as need be.

    Here are the pics.

Hey why not, at the end of the day the only one that needs to be happy with your car is you.

I have a friend that used a ford imn 12 independent rear, I think it was out of a Thunderbird Super Coupe in his '65 f100. So he's got 4 wheel disc brakes, it handles like a dream and iirc that's a ford 8.8" unit in the middle. Not a bad deal if you ask me.

I need to do some more measuring and figuring, but if I'm right it will go under the old truck pretty nice and be narrow enough to get some fairly wide meats under an uncut wide bed :D

From the proverbial trying to pack 10 lbs into a 5 lb package school of chassis building. But it did fit. Gary

'72 chevy trailing arm suspension dropped straight into a '50 chevy truck. The panhard bar and air bags are mounted since this pic:

I was just going to ask this same question! Getting my 52 fleetline ready for a C notch and swapping out the rear springs for something. Still up in the air on that. Come on lets see some setups.

Great response so far, it's good to see so many different setups. This is going to make setting up the rest of my rear suspension easier.

There are lots more to share guys post away.
