Clear is on and all sanded and buffed , new springs [ lowered 2"] ball jointt and rubber in the front. New tires too. Keeping the rims black , looks good after I painted them I kinda like it. I did both rear 1/4 panels and had to fix one other rust spot , I'M not a body guy but I'M pretty happy with how it came out. Did all the painting out side. Have to polish all the chrome and put it back on but jesus what a lot of work.
Looks sharp. I love seeing people do it themselves! Maybe trim rings and chrome lugs would set the wheels off.
Ive got a '66 Impala 4door sedan. The quarters on these cars take forever, im glad thats behind me. Now onto my '63 Imp 2door hard top, i swear that cars quarters are like 20feet long...
Looks really good, I love 65 Impalas, I had a 327 4 speed SS . I sold it in '99 . I wish I still had it.
Thanks man , I thought I would never see the day. I have to put all the trim on but that shouldn't be to bad , I have a new rubber kit for the windows / trunk / doors etc..
How about those smallish hubcaps, i think there commonly referred to as "dog dish" or something like that. They put em on cop cars
you aint kidding , I welded them with a 110 volt Lincoln wire feed [ no gas] flex core or whatever. I'LL take a pick of the seam , loads of block sanding.
They are not as easy to find , I would totally use those when I come across a set , I don't like fancy chrome to much. they are 8X15 rims off a G-body olds , 10 1/4 inch centers . If I come across a set then I will use them.
No need , your pretty far away. I'M going to Vegas in a week and they have a shop on the strip I might fing a set. Thanks though man.
Amen Brother! PS. Lookin' Good! Almost makes me shed a tear for my old black '65 convertible w/chrome reverses.
I feel your pain. A lot of parts for '65 are one year only. It took me awhile to finish my '65. It has a dual quad 454 and 6 speed.
Nice Biscain! Just see one for sale in Canyon City colorado , it was a fixer upper. pretty rough but those are rare.
There was a "drag packed" optioned original "65 Biscayne for sale. All original, $65K, yikes! So I kinda built my own.
Great job man! I am all thumbs up for those of us that build our own rides...I have quite a few projects, go check them out...I am working on a '64 Impala as we speak...Great job!!!
Good job The Hank! 65s are best looking Impalas and I'm on my second one.Hope to roll it in the shop soon.
Great looking '65. I've kinda had my eye out for one to put my L-88 and Doug Nash 5 spd. in. I'd really prefer it to be a 2dr Biscayne but any rust free '65 could be a candidate. I even toyed with doing a cheap optioned wagon for the sleeper look. Frank
