Well, it's what we did last weekend anyway. Old cars, old boats, old trailers, I love this stuff. We didn't get any wine touring in, but, there's always next weekend for that!

Edit: For some reason, the link pasted isn't to the blog post about camping, and I can't seem to fix it. So, to see the post that makes sense, scroll down to "Lets go camping!" on the blog page. Sorry, I don't understand all I know about my computer skills...

Wow, how neat! Wish I coulda been there with ya but was otherwise occupied at the CHRR. Am an ex-Michigander and fall there is beyond beautiful. Had a Century 18-footer at one time. Old cars and wood boats are just way cool!

    Love it Brian,
All I've done is pickup lawn debris (leaves, sticks, pine cones) and work on my Model A this fall.
Your living the dream for sure!

  8. I about cried the other day when I found I could have had a camper identical to yours for next to nothing but found out AFTER it had been sawzalled for scrap. Been watching it for years and it went to auction before I knew it.

Don't give up Tman, there are LOTS of things out there for little more than scrap prices. Lots of grain harvesters used Spartans as they migrated down thru the plains, so there are lots of 'em out in your part of the country. I bought this one for scrap price on ebay of all places, 5 years ago when the market was STRONG for them. They're out there!

No, this is a '54 Chris Craft "Sportsman" 17' utility. Lymans are all lapstrake hulls. Chris Craft made lapstrake hulls as well, the "Sea Skiff" line of boats.

Lymans were made in Sandusky, and were very nice rough water boats. We had, but sold unfinished, a 1939 Lyman 21' enclosed runabout.

Do you want a project, or a finished one? Try my buddy Dan Piper at "VintageCampers.com", he's always got a few Spartans.

Just in case you really wanted one, Tman.

Of coarse you would have to ford your way over the might mississip.

Brian, you just had to show off the toys one last time before winter, huh.:D Seriously I'm green with envy. I wish I had the money to restore a spartan like yours, it's dreamy:eek:. So is your boat, oh and your wagon. My dad and I always look forward to touring your "tin can" at Gilmore. Maybe I'll introduce myself, one of these days, as the phantom drooler.:D

Ah, ya beat me to the link, while I was typing. I'm a little slow...

  17. This is what this idiot scrapped!

Dreamy? That wasn't the adjective I was going for! Unless you're a chick, which, your profile does NOT indicate!

Cheers, but in a manly way,

    Brian

  19. I will keep looking for one to restore. I always enjoy the blog Brian
