I'm going to Ann Arbor in two weeks for work. Is there anything good Automotive related there to see?

Old Hudson dealership in Yipsilanti, and the Fire Apparatus Museum there is cool too. The Gilmore Mueseum is (I think) only open thru the end of October, but the Air Zoo in Kalamazoo is open all year, and who doesn't like to look at old War Birds?

It's not automotive related, but it is a cool place for a visit this time of year. Warm cinnamon donuts and cold cider Mmmm.

Just be careful of the herds of hippie-dipsticks tooling around the UofM campus in their rice-beaters. You'll find yourself completely amazed by their driving skills! NOT!
Nowhere outside of Berkley, CA has such a vast collection of witless maladroits been allowed to pilot vehicles on public roads without adult supervision.

If you are into planes, the Yankee Air Force Museum at Willow Run airport in Ypsilanti is open. Matt

I have a very-long-time friend that works in Ann Arbor, and has lived in the SF Bay Area, who confirms this statement.

About the only thing worse than the foreign drivers in their foreign cars in Ann Arbor are the bus drivers. DO NOT get in their way, or even close to them they will simply go where they want to go whether you are already there or not. I had one force me into the oncoming lanes so he could make the turn at the corner. While my daughter was going to school there two people were killed by busses.

The Henry Ford Museum is a must
    http://www.thehenryford.org/
and afterward have a burger and beer at Miller's on Michigan Ave.
    http://www.millersbar.com/

The other must is a burger in Yspi at Sidetracks, Yspi is right next door to Ann Arbor.
    http://www.sidetrackbarandgrill.com/

You pick the day and time and I'll meet you there. Afterwards we'll go one block over and put our noses against the plate glass showroom windows at RM Auctions. A couple of blocks from there is a private collection of some cars that I'll take you too.....that's if Guy AKA GZ here on the HAMB will join us.

While in Yspi, if you can get there before 5pm is the Hudson Museum which is right across the street from the Sidetrack Bar and Grill.

    Nearby to Ann Arbor:

Miller Motors in Ypsilanti, last Hudson dealer, and nice museum next door. Jack Miller is the father of the annual Orphan Car Show, a really fun place.

<O:pThe ‘Barn’ in Ypsilanti, kind of a co-op garage/storage/workshop in an old warehouse. Full of sports cars, antiques, classics and a few hot rods. Great bunch and mix of guys. Open house first Saturday morning of the month, coffee and donuts maybe, and sometimes a speaker. Pretty casual, just park and walk in.

If you’re in Ann Arbor, don’t sit around in your hotel. Go downtown, things are always jumping till late night. Great restaraunts. Wednesday is bike night, Main Street is full of bikes, weather permitting. You'll have a good time in Ann Arbor.

  24. Heyyyyyy. I'm a hippie from there. Definately Depot Town in Ypsilanti for the Hudson dealer and museum next door. Fire fighter museum up the street from there. Go to Abe's Coney Island in Ypsilanti also and say hi to April.( She's my wifey ) Bill Clinton ate there once while in office. Preston Tucker's place is there. Big screen movie Tucker

All of the previous are great suggestions for car related stuff.

    on the burger notes:

The SideTrack in Ypsi is excellent
but when in Ann Arbor you MUST go to Blimpie Burger

Right, it's not car related, but if you’re within 100 miles of Ann Arbor, definitely make it to Krazy Jim’s Blimpy Burger, know locally as Blimpy’s. Best burgers ever, anywhere. Just ordering is an experience. It's a fun place.

The Travel Channel featured Blimpy’s on one of their shows as ‘Best Burgers, and they got the attitude right too.
