You mean, "Hey, that's my truck" doesn't constitute probable cause?

  2. Hope to see your truck returned soon, and some son of a bitch needs to endear a serious ass whoopin! If they know where it is and who has it, what are they waiting for? Somebody steal it back!

So what in the hell are VINs for then? If a car is reported stolen and one fitting the description is spotted they have probable cause to go and check the VIN. WTF? Sound like a bunch of clowns...

    The offer still stands.

WHAT!!!! THE!!! FUCK!!! You mean to tell us that the police knew about it, but didn't have the balls to knock on the door and ask to inspect some VIN's? What the fuck are they good for then? Writing J-Walking tickets and nothing more or what?

From owning and driving a chopped AD Chevy truck with suicide doors for the past 28 years I can tell anyone that they are damned easy to spot if someone is looking for one. I'd have to say that the character who has the truck has hidden it out now that he knows that the heat is still on. He can't go anywhere where real car people hang out without someone taking notice as it has been and still is posted on a number of different places on the net.

Best we can hope is that the guy decides the heat is off and takes the truck somewhere that it might be spotted. The vin number will probably be changed and obviously the tags but there are enough known identifying things on the truck to identify it.

well who the fuck is in charge over there, buford t. pusser? something just ain't right about that. probable cause? it's a stolen truck for cripes sake! best of luck with your truck and your health bro.

  9. Question, is someone able to verify where the truck is on a daily basis? if not, no telling where it is or if it has been reduced to pieces by now.

How friendly are the local repo guys? I'd suggest hiring their services to at least lean on the guilty party. If you still hold the paperwork on the truck, "sell" it to someone you know and say they have missed the payments and the truck has been traced to Austin Texas.

Have a local HAMBer put a sign up in their yard advertising free doughnuts inside, there will be cops all over that place in no time.

The bad thing is that the only vin tag on these trucks is in the driver's door frame, held by 2 rivets, which are easily drilled out and replaced.

I hope the tag hasn't been changed. If it has, maybe they didn't paint behind it and the orig. paint is still there.. Detailed lists of parts with pictures may help. Find a hot rodder cop to help to identify them.

Coffee , donuts, and about twenty HAMBer's hanging out in the police station on a daily basis. And don't share the donuts until something positive starts happening. Morning Bump

Um, you might want to do a search on Buford Pusser. That one-man army of a sheriff would have been stomping on the genitals of the damn truck thief a long time ago.
