I was looking at a crane at work the other day that kind of had the proportions of a sectioned car and it made me start thinking about how few sectioned cars I've seen. It's always been a process that interested me but also intimidated me does any one have any pictures of sectioned cars old or new especially build pictures.
    thanks

  3. Here is an old sectioned job from the late 50's that was a 49 Dodge Wayfarer convert. I'm restoring. It was originally built in the SFB area and sat neglected for many years.

The work of metal God Jason Hawkins. Chopped 49 Cadi Sedanette. The car has come along way since these pictures were taken. Next time you see it it'll damn near be done.

I would love too see more of this, I have been contemplating getting another one of these to section it, as well as a few other tasty mods.

That 39 Olds Coupe just makes a stock bodied 39 coupe look like something is wrong with it.

One of the best sectioned cars ever. This was the first time out after Paul Harper had put the roof back on and redid the car after it sat in Tacoma for years with the top cut off. Bob Jasper is the gent kneeling down contemplating what he is going to do on the interior.
I saw the car both before and after it was sectioned at car shows in Seattle and Tacoma in the early 60's.

Not a car.....but......trucks can be sectioned too right? Right pic is where I started and though I've gotten a whole lot more done the other three are the sectioned truck....

Lemme tell you what, sectioning a truck is wicked hard, I cant imagine what its like to do a whole car....with a AD all you have to section is the cab, doors and hood....

I actually have the doors sectioned now....

Last time I'll pull the thread OT....promise...

Yes it is an S10 bed narrowed and shortened (twice actually, once behind the wheel and once ahead of the wheel...)

The bed will be getting some major surgery as well to reverse the tell tale S10 line which I hate...I actually scabbed some beltline steel from a AD going to the crusher and will be reversing the body line to match the cab...

Thinking about sloping the tailgate area as well....jury's still out on that mod.

  18. Great timing. :D I was just going to start this thread.

Here's a couple I've done. I have done others but pre digital, pics are buried in a box somewhere.
    img023.jpg
    Brian Everett's 49 Caddy-O Daddy-O. 3 1/2" chop, 3 1/2" tapered section (none in front to 3 1/2" in the back).
    DSC_0113.JPG DSC_0111.JPG
1949 Olds 98, 3 1/2" chop, 3 1/2" full section. Car should be finished sometime next summer.

I'd be hard pressed to get talked into another section job, they're a ton of work! For sure I'll never do another big GM fastback!

Here are pics of my '42 Ford convert that has been sectioned 3 1/2", channelled 5", fenders raised 4", hood sliced. It has been in work since June '10. I have a 401 Nailhead for it and will continue the work in the spring. ;)

Full documentation is layed out at: Montana Barn Find on the HAMB.

Shoeboxes don't look right to me sectioned. Especially from the rear view.

  26. I don't usually like shoeboxes sectioned but that body bag just about got it right in my opinion. Close as I've ever seen. Maybe it's just me.

    ULTIMATE WOODY

Here is a '50 woody that my son and I built a couple of years ago for a guy in N. Miami... it has a big block Ford/C-6 and is now getting wood.

Sectioned 4", chopped 2", crown pulled down 1".;)

    I have a couple:
my 61 chev truck, I don't remember the #'s but it took 2 cuts 1 through the upper peak, about 2 inch, and 1 cut around the bottom/middle about 4 inch. chopped 3.

also my 60 elcamino, sectioned 2, and chopped around 4.5...
