We think it's a strip of the ivory leatherette on the upper trunk lid opening flange. Things of this nature were constantly changeing in response to showing something different/new from the last show. We have decided to not incorperate that particular item because we feel we have that option.

Thanks Jer. I wasn't picking your project apart. I'm just curious to find as much info as I can about my favorite custom. I figured it was changes for the show circuit. Thanks for the reply.

Oh man, I'm loving all the attention to the minute details!

Exciting work - looking forward to seeing it all polished up next to the Kopper Kart.

oil cans kinda look oil canned, look how wavy they are...What a terrible job! Personally, i would've cut them open, hammer and dolly them nice and straight, weld them back together, do some lead bodywork block sand, guide coat at least 5 times then paint. JEEZ.

Remnants of the old headliner. The new headliner in place. I'm expecting to see the new headliner stretched and glued in place tomorrow when I go to the trim shop. Wer'e on the down hill side of this part of the build.

Just thought I would post this prior to regular posting. The '50 Ford visors are blunt at the ends. I think Jr had Merc visors. They are extended at the ends. This makes for a nice effect when put up against the headliner.

  16. How did I miss this thread all along? What a fantastic build. It's (almost) too bad it's a clone, there is so much excellent work in this car it'll be a jaw-dropper no matter what.

Well , it looks like Jr. snuck in to...hey, thats Glen the glass guy. GET THE HELL OFF THE PHONE AND GET BACK TO WORK! I gotta get this car done. THAT BETTER BE A LOCAL CALL!

As you can see the steering wheel is wrong and the door panels are going to stay off for awhile and, no I don't know what that is.

  28. Jer, looking great ! I was looking at the "on the phone" pictures. Was the shift rod that follows the column down chromed ? I was just looking at the two pictures and was wondering.. I wish my shoebox was this nice.
