Where would I find the vin# on a 36 chevy?

Starting a new project and dont know where to find it... Thanks.

in low area that usually rusts through.

No, it was put on the engine instead.

 

Originally, it was the MOTOR NUMBER and sometime along the way, unless the car is still ***led with original ***le, a VIN was ***igned. Depending on what state, what their procedure is/was, the tag with VIN could be anywhere. could even be that MOTOR NUMBER, redesignated on the newer ***le as VIN. If you have a ***le, look for that number anywhere/everywhere. If you can't find it but have a clear ***le, the solution is obvious.
