An easy mistake to make, when 65% of the pages (count 'em) are full with advertisements.

    I looked it up...

    gay adj \ˈgā\

    1
    a : happily excited : merry <in a gay mood>
b : keenly alive and exuberant : having or inducing high spirits <a bird's gay spring song>

    2
a : bright, lively (gay sunny meadows)
    b : brilliant in color

    3
: given to social pleasures; also : licentious

    4
    a : homosexual (gay men)
b : of, relating to, or used by homosexuals (the gay rights movement) (a gay bar) (liking or preferring metal shaped by a machine rather than by hand) (whining about anything hot rod related)

The magazine does seem to have improved as far as featuring more traditional cars. Still it is the advertising buck that drives magazine content. Unless we want to pony up the bucks so that they don't need advertisers to survive that is.
As far as going back to the traditional cars rather then the billet trick of the week cars I think it may have something to do with a lot of guys getting to the point I was at a few years ago and just flat being tired of building a car or truck with the latest trick items only to have half of them be obsolete by the time the vehicle was finished and hit it's first rod trot.

Well back on topic if thats ok, all car magazines will have something that you like and something you dont, because the writers need to entertain a wide array of hobbyist every month. Sometimes an issue hits the stand and you see it and think man thats just what I like other issues are packed with cars of the lame and silly just like the post on this thread funny names gay references whats next keeping up with the kardashians updates?????

To be honest, I haven't licked a Street Rodder magazine recently to compare the taste to the old ones. Are they using soy ink now?

1 and 3, not 2, not 4, neither A nor B. They make it from Eucalyptus so it can be fed to Pandas. I like a good Rodder's Journal every now and then. If you are gonna read, read the best, drink, drink the best, smoke, smoke the best. Cheat on the old lady, make it with a solid 10. Don't do any thing half assed.

  19. Who cares? If you like it, read it. If you don't, don't. Can't believe I actually read through 6 pages of blabbering.

While your 10000 plus posts indicate an extensive repertoire of information/knowledge; my personal observation after 5-6 years of daily perusal of this site coupled with 60 years of reading most of the germaine magazines is that most of the really dumb questions would not have been asked if the questioner was familiar with the content of those "passe" magazines.

The big turnaround for Street Rodder was the April '10 issue. That cover was kick ass, and suitable for framing. And who can forget the two modifieds featured inside. Eric Giesert's writing was just genius ! That issue is surely destined to be a collectible.

We flew from Denver to Portland, Or. on a plane piloted by Capt. Dick Lure. I didn't close my eyes one time for the whole flight...
