I think it would look cool in satin emerald green with a slightly darker green metal flaked roof.

Paul , honestly I really like that car just the way it is ! I do agree that a different early Corvair hubcap would really set the wheels of but I do like the colors that it is now . Now I did like the scallops on the other car but a little light for me or how about some nice pin-stripping on the white sides of the roof ? Maybe some pin-stripping around the door handles and places like that just to set it off some ? You could even do the top in a pearl color with tiny silver & gold flakes to give it that extra glimmer when the sun hits it .

As for the other guy , let it go . He just has too much military in him I guess . People just need to lighten up a little and not take things so damn personally like you are out to point a finger at them . Hey anyone can trash talk with a keyboard . Life is too short to let people like him get to you . You did nothing wrong !

Now how long have you had this car ?

Air Force and an officer?? Says it all right there!!
I loved my job in the Army, even as a lowly corporal the officers were still to scared to give any of us shit.

I grew up near Vancouver (BC, Canada) and remember seeing a few of them around so they definitely made it to Canada. Really smooth styling and the photo-shop lowering job makes them look really cool. What's under the hood? 1600 cc four?

Third vote for that off white but as kripfink likes a gold flaked roof how about combining that off white with the gold flake on the roof?

I also know nothing about this model of car. How about some background on them for a little education? Who made them, when, where, inquiring minds want to know. LOL

What color is the OP going to do the Interior? The outside should match.

Gigantor, THAT'S IT! That off white looks iridescent. I think that blue interior would still blend with the off white exterior.

Lowered, and ditch the door handles.Flaked room and the off white looks good. That body is so cool, maybe just round things up a little like the bottom of the doors. But then again its got a great look all by itself.I want one!!!

Gigantor , I like where you are coming from one the off white with the red or the gold top ! That really sets that car off really nice !

Now how about a tech on how to use what program you are using so we can do that stuff too ? I have a few different ways I would like to do my car but don't know how to do what you are doing . Is it a special program or what .

Paul, am I right thinking that Jim will have a hand in the paint and Jules working some magic on the interior?
I'd love to see a couple of frenched antenna on the rear quarters.
Think the cream is a great start and either the gold or red would look mint.

Photoshop is an amazing little program. When I was in high school, I was taking C.A.D. Mechanical drafting. I hated every second of it. I used to use the line tool to draw pictures instead. One day the instructor caught me. He hauled me out of my chair and threw me into his office. He sat me down, spun his chair around and booted up a tutorial version of Photoshop 2.0. He didn't have instructions or a manual or anything. He told me that if I learned how to use it and taught him, he wouldn't flunk me in CAD. I took "C.A.D." for two more years and got straight A's. My first job after high school was a graphics job using knowledge I taught myself and he gave me an opportunity to learn. Thirteen years later, I'm still doing graphics for work and wonder what my life would have been like without that teacher. He was a good man and an excellent teacher.
I could probably be as good as some of the other cats on here if I ever took any courses.

That's a very clean and tasteful scheme. That will never go out of style and will always be a looker. Please don't flat black this one, it's too nice a subject for that. The only other color would be all shiny black with highly polished trim and wheels with blackwalls.

Best colour combo so far. This would look REALLY sharp IMHO. How about some 4-stud steelies chromed and reversed? I realize budget enters into this but it would look KILLER.

How 'bout "5o's-ish" pastel/sage green body with this red flake roof and hubcaps to match?

  29. Some nice combinations here Kripfink. Have you started toying with the idea to buy a few more Capris just for the hell of it ?
