The only thing additional is the skirts, slammed and moulded running boards.

The floors are solid. Till you get to the trans cover. The damn hack actually welded shit over the floor supports, covered the seat mounting holes, and used a TON of seam sealer to fill it all in.

You do some clean work. Thanks for the intel. Did you buy your parts for the floors? Or make them?

I assumed those skirts would be rusty. Seems like if these cars have rust anywhere it will be in the doors first. I think your lucky they are in good shape.:)

All of the metal work there was from scratch. Running boards, floors, door bottoms, rear fender widenning. ...All of it.

yeah it did. The old owner drove it all over the place. He is in my club. Just was unfamiliar territory for him so I took it off of his hands for him.

The chop was pretty hefty. But I think it will look right on with the carson top.

I had to man. What was I going to do with that roof? When we pulled it off, there was so much weight in the back, that the roof actually FOLDED in half! Under all of that sheetmetal he had layered over one another, there was a ton of lead. He just made relief cuts and then leaded over them! Didnt even make a single thing fit. Whatever. Problem solved. Looks better already. I even have a few new parts for it to.

That looks alright. I am partial to the hudson parts though. Sweet truck either way. I found one here near me. The guy will NOT budge on it. The shame is, it has been sitting for a very long time according to the neighbor.

Theres a news letter called Hudson Mechanics Rag for modfied Hudsons. Maybe you could get a donor roof to put on the right way.

The eds. name is Burt Schwartz E-Mail is hudsonut@hotmail.com

May if you E-Mail him you can get a sample copy

No thanks. The carson top is a go. By the time I paid shipping, and bought the roof, I could have already had it all put together. Thank you though.

I really do not like those rear fenders. But then again, it does make it a hudson. That car looks like it is to much fun!

Time to put it all back together! That could be a cool ride. Even though it is cut, it is more of a solid start than mine. Wait till you see the frame! That is even worse.

I've got a soft spot for '42 Hudsons. That's what my parents brought me home from the hospital in 62 years ago at the tender age of three days old. Here's a couple photos of the family Hudson from back then. I especially am fond of the one of me and my Dad when I was one year old.

I think that Carson top is the way to go man. Good idea and if it looks close to that photoshop it will be bad ass.

It sucks having to clean up someone elses hack work but its one of those things you gotta do if you are gonna haul family around in it.

  29. Appropriately named, it appears the roof work was done by zombies! The Carson top should look tits on the Hudson - this will be a fun build to watch!
