I've had a soft spot for them ever since my dad bought a black '64 four-door new. I was one year old at the time.

My buddy has a chevy II that he drives when he's not working. Its all original down to the 3 on the tree.
I have a 63 SS , that I was going to leave stock but ended like always going a performance route..It has a 406 and 350 with 373 gears to keep it a good street car. So Im thinking of radiusing the rear wheel opening and doing a T bolt hood scoop because I like the look of them .. I was going to keep the inside pretty stock, but Either cragar ss or slots on the wheels. not sure yet
64' original laquar(spelling) paint and interior, 230 inline with Clifford cam, intake and Weber Carb. 65' SS dragger, just sold and missing it 66' Lowlife on bags. Tore apart again to update things
Not very street friendly - ran 11.30's in the 1/4 though. My daughter - 5 yrs old at the time - dubbed it the "Nova - Nova". I too, miss it, and the pit neighborhood.
Hey Bonez, Kinda digging the chop. Have seen them done before and didn't like, but something about yours made me think different. Think the others weren't done right or to much. Whats the future plans?
I shot these for a buddy of mine a couple months ago. The car is a 66 L-79. If you're not really "in" to the Chevy II let me attempt to clue you in. This is a factory 350 HP 327 combined with a close ratio Muncie 4 speed and a 12 bolt equipped with 3.73 gears and positraction. It's estimated that just over 5000 total L-79s were built in 1966, approximately 700 of them were sport coupes like this one. This car has all of its original drivetrain, the engine has never been apart. It has had one repaint...about 30 years ago. The only changes are the headers, Super Sun tach, steering wheel, and Stewart Warner gauges. All of these changes were done by the original owner when the car was new.
Well here's mine, It's the Canadian version of a Nova. The Acadians were built by GM of Canada,(Oshawa assembly line)and sold thru Pontiac dealers because GM of Canada didn't have their own dealership network at the time. Its a number matching L79(327/350hp) with a 3 on the tree(stock, 4 speed was an upgrade option), and the 12 bolt with a Non posi 3.08 gearset. All the canadian cars had body colour trunks and firewalls. The L79 cars had different Alternator bractect and different valve cover decals. decals were Acadian,327, 350 horsepower. In 1966 there were only 84 L79 engines installed into all "X" bodied cars in Canada. That was for all Novas and Acadians,a lot less than the 5000 that were produced in the states for 66,eh? My car is listed on the Canadian L79 Registry, and has the Protecto plate. Later, Roger
