Another famous smoker, Groucho is so young, I'm sure this
is an early-'30s soundie, but I won't guess beyond that. And
the actor at right is NOT Steppin Fetchit (Lincoln Perry), as
Groucho and Perry were never in a movie together. SO, there
is the dual mystery, folks! What's the movie? And who, really,
is the player at right? Toughie!

Errol Flynn publicity shot, THANKS to sylvie.com. Too bad Errol's
"Wicked, Wicked Ways" weren't confined to tobacco. He might
have lived longer than just 50 years!

Mart, your "rumble-seat girl" pic over on the other nostalgia
thread reminded me of this one. The 1947 LIFE magazine pic is
easily one of the keenest rumble-seat photos I've seen. Rumble
seats really weren't around that long, were they? Basically, big in
the '20s and dying out after the '39 Plymouth.

Vice-President Truman was tickling the ivories at the National Press
Club in February 1945 when Lauren Bacall's producer got a brain storm.
The resulting photo caused quite a national stir but generated a ton
of press for the rising young movie star.
Photo is THANKS to the WikiMedia Commons project!

And a few months later, LIFE magazine carried photos
of the wedding of Bogey and Bacall at the idyllic country
getaway of Pulitzer-Prize-winning novelist Louis Bromfield,
near the little town of Lucas, Richland County in Ohio. If
they thought they could quietly elope to the country -- boy! --
    were they ever wrong! LOL

The actor is not a mystery. He is Willie Best who did lots of movies and TV shows. I'm not sure about the movie, he was in more than one Marx Bros movie.

Here's another vintage actress, Lana Wood, now 64, the late Natalie Wood's sister. She was the "Bond girl", "Plenty O'Toole" in "Diamonds Are Forever" in 1971. Plenty, indeed!
She was married and divorced 5 times by the age of 29.
She appeared in the April, 1971 Playboy wear she shared her assets and her poetry...seriously...poetry....I guess she didn't want to be known as just some sort of boob.
That's the only reason I bought that issue....the poetry, yeah, that's it, I like the poetry.....stuff that rhymes and stuff like that, you know.

Who's yer daddy? Above, "Super Pershing" T26-E41 with 90-mm
rifled gun; below, Mark VI "King Tiger II" with Krupp 88-mm rifled
gun. The first encounter between these two in early '45 lasted only 20
seconds, long enough for the Pershing crew to get off their second shot.
The first took out the Tiger's drive sprocket, the second penetrated the
King's side armor, setting off their ammo store.

It's the shape, baby, the real ones have got natural curves, these are clunky, I'm tellin' ya , I was a mid-century modern dealer, I know this shit inside and out.
BTW, that picture you posted of those two gals with the cameraman is from a fairly recent sexploitation flick, I just saw it, but I can't remember the name, those chicks are hawt!!!!!

So wha-dya think this now-90-year-old cat (R) did back
in '44 to win the Congressional Medal of Honor? Under
Mark Clark's command in Italy in early '44, Van Barfoot
merely led his men safely though a minefield, single-
handedly took out three Kraut machine gun nests,
captured 17 POWs, took out a Mark VI Tiger tank
(running two more off), killed three of the dismounted,
and still-combative, Tiger crew with his tommygun,
then stuck a thermite grenade in the breach of a Ger-
man field piece to disable it -- ALL in one day. Obviously,
he's not a guy who backs down easily. But recently,
neighbors in his Virginia condo community threatened
to take him to court because his U.S. flag was big AND
on the wrong kind of pole. Assholes, they should have
known. After they got egg all over their faces in the
press, well, guess who the hell backed down?
