    Hi guys
was looking for a bit of help in finding some info on a car featured in this thread wayyyyy back on page 5, car went by the name of Spy Machine

The interest comes about because if you check my location i live in Aust & we love our Mopars down here & it just so happens the car Spy Machine is based upon was released here as the Valiant R Series & that pic has created some interest as to the cars history

Any info appreciated......by the way so many threads on this site rock!

I don't know who posted that shot either, but a friend of mine bought that car out of the Bay area and brought it back to OK back in the late '90's- early '20's. I still have the rear out of it. The car was a rough, rough, rough, homebuilt funny. I sold the front axle at the Bowling Green Chrysler Classic a couple of years ago, and my buddy sold the body to somebody else (I think it went back to Cali). The damned thing probably wieghed more than the steel body did!

I don't know much about it but do know it was based on the west coast Canada. I believe it was bronze incolor with a black roof, ran altered and was Hemi powered. A number of years agao, I talked to a guy who was involved with running the car and recall him saying it was a handful, as you would suspect.

The good news there is that it wouldn't have to be real fast to keep your interest!

  14. Bernie,I can fill you in on the early years of this car.It is a Canadian Valiant, with a full frame under it.I had a lot of hours into it helping the original builder. It had a SBC and a Torqueflite, later a four speed stick was installed. One of the early runs, the plexy windshield collapsed, causing the rear windshield to blow out too.It first raced at the original Mission Raceway,1966 I think. As you can see it was a bear to handle.I tryed a couple a runs too.[NASTY]It was sold about 1968,to Mike Gilles.I think this picture is when he owned it.I don't know about a Hemi engine however. If you are wondering about the name of the car.The original biulder came to Canada from China, and we called him the Spy:D

Thanks for the info Boyd. I was working off of an obviously fading memory. Something told me it had a Hemi at one time.

This is Marv Eldridge's vette. How do I know? Because I raced with him and his car hauler is next to the vette. Nice try.

Nice photo if may say so myself. We were racing Fred Goske at Riverside in 1968. This photo was featured in Hot Rod magazine. Thanks for the memories.

Great photo of rusty deling. He drove the Fiberglass trends Javelin and crashed the Mister T vette at lions. Great guy and good shoe.
