Love this one. You should aim for this ride height/stance.

Heres a pic of the headers. Theyre not the ones I wanted but i got these off craigslist for $150. A little less than speedway wants for em. I wanted the ones like in the second pic. those babies are$539!! Maybe later:rolleyes: Dave shot a video on his phone of me starting it up with just the headers, its really poor quality video but as soon as i figure out how to post it I will.

Thanks! The top is actually bare metal and I plan to keep it that way, just swirl it out and I'm lost as to what color to paint the rest of the car. I think the last half dozen cars Ive had have been black or white. Can one of you photoshop guys do me up some color ideas. Wanna keep the bare roof and do a color on bottom with colored windows. Like an orange car with yellow windows? Maybe from one of the cool side shots. Thanks

Hooker has a set of small block for the chevy II and they look pretty aggressive and fit nice.

That's a thing of beauty! Dave's welds are too nice to cover up.

    Later,

I fucking LOVE THIS CAR. Super bitchin. Love the height, love the whitewalls all the way around, even love that the car sits level. Oh man:p

somebody's gotta say it...those welds are substandard. tacktacktack is fine if you do it right, those are wrong. they'll no doubt hold the car together until the build style changes again, but i wouldn't be bragging them up.

disclaimer: i am not a pro welder nor an actor, but i do know bad welds or acting when i see them.

I'm a gasser style guy thru and thru which means I'm really liking this build.

Don't know if you have your steering planned out, but I used the Unistear cross steer rack n pinion box in my Scout. It works extremely well.

wow, bummer...sorry but i think its all wrong...the car needs to be in the weeds and remain a sled also, those welds are less then satisfactory...they are not stacked correctly so most likely integrity is compromised...sorry to bang on your build, its looks like you've spent alot of time and money...i'll get off your thread as not to spoil your build...

I like it but the front wheels, I would center them up like on the white one. Never think I ever see a sled to Gasser build on here. Cool all the same.

You like the height? It looks rediculious to me. Put some 22" wheels on it and you would fit right in here in Tallahassee!

I gotta agree. That thing is about twice the height it should be, but to each their own.

Oh I get it! but I think this car missed the mark of what "It" really is. the examples shown here are awesome and capture the "Gasser" look but In my opinion this one looks like a 4x4. i was simply asking if this was for looks being so tall. Is it a style of car that people are trying capture? it just looks like it wouldnt function all that well. seriously a cool car but I think it should come down a half a foot.

For those of you who dont agree with any part of this build, its ok. If theres anything Ive learned from this forum is that its about what I like when it comes to my car and thats about it. I knew there would be some of you who werent "feelin it", but thats how it goes. Im super stoked that Dave and Lyle (to give everyone credit) are willing to take the time to give my car a new identity for next year. Ill keep posting pics and get a video up soon too. As i figured, the people who like this build overshadow those who dont! Hate on haters! You guys make me smile!:D
