Sorry...I'm no help as my car has both aftermarket quarters and aftermarket tail pan...I'll have to hack/dice/trim my old decklid to fit the hole..Rocky
You sir, obviously havent' repaired many vehicles that have been hit in the ***! When a panel has been hit the metal can compress, stretch or just change arangement. That mythological 38 & 3/8'' ain't gonna mean **** if the vehicle you're rebuilding wasn't that measurement to begin with! Any "metalman'' with less than a handfull of years of experience knows this! I sure hope you arn't tryin to make a living in customer service- " Life ain't no Disney Movie "
My '33 five window is 38 1/4" right on the money at the bottom of the opening and 38 3/4" at the top of the opening. Mine is painted so the metal to metal would be slightly bigger. The quarters have never been off mine and had never been damaged.
Well you obviously don't know Marshall's work. I'm the customer, this is my car. He asked a simple question and got a bunch of BS, some of which people later deleted. The same question was asked on Ford Barn and no BS, straight, meaningful answers. Go figure. Thanks Bill, just the info. we are looking for.
You're welcome for the info. If I can help with anything else or take any specific pictures, just let me know.
