Nice Pic!!!^^^^^^^ Two of my favorite body styles of trucks!! I REALLY want to build a Stude pickup after my 1950 chev.

 

Heres a couple of shots of a 1939 champion called The Boss ,out of Penna. Photo's were taken around 1963 to 1966.

 

Checkout Redlineracer42 here on H.A.M.B.....or Stealy Performance 383 e-85 and gas for a dyno pull of this engine....R~R I have owned this car for I dunno...25 or 26 years.Long cool Story on this original D/G Stude.

 

here is my 1936 dictator 4 door that my grandfather gave me. it sits in my garage waiting for me to start restoring it.

 

That Stude is "Minty Sweeeeeet." What happened with it? Did your friend pick it up?

heres my dads truck in the early 70s, when he sold it. i found it in 99 in a near by town behind a shop still painted the same just faded ,so he bought it back and started redoing it but passed away before it was done, now its my truck so some day soon i will get to it marty

 

Just bought my first Studebaker. Hopefully one day it will be as nice as some of the cars I've seen in this thread.

Those of you that have experience with '53-'55 Champions, what are the options for lowering them a couple inches?

39, cab, 42 front sheet metal, unknown bed. As we speak a rear ladder bar suspension and front straight axle are being installed along with a 509 ci Cadillac engine.

 

great lookin studes guys i would love to find a 53 or 54 and a 50's stude truck (like the one in hotrod the movie)

 

Here's a '62 Lark I sold last year. Had a '66 327, th350 installed.

 

Our 63 Lark on its way to the Pileup.

 

We lowered the race car with stock front end by carving off 1.5 gyres from each front spring and replacing the rear leafs with flatter arch/fewer leaf from ford truck. This gave about 5" clearance in front. See Salt2Salt to check out the stance....

Small world redlineracer24! I grad from Sterling HS in 71. My dad ran the ARCO plant (also a Firestone dealer) in Deer Grove, ILL. In 69/70, he was getting Arnie Beswick his slicks. Met him a couple times, cool guy. He would take his motors that were about to be rebuilt (in his FC) and use them to run his FC in exhibitions on tractor pull tracks in that corner of ILL. Would throw dirt 300 ft in the air!! Really wild! (we used to go to morrison on weekends for the girls, they were wild too!)

be interesting to see if and how it drives tomorrow and learn more about it

plans percolating - mild, with slightly lower rear, bit wider steel wheels, hurst cheaters with dirt track pattern and some cleaning and polishing

possibly darker hood and roof with some striping

it's a little truck, so keeping it simple.

Watch the cylinder head closely.
They are subject to cracking bad if overheated, and finding a good, used, head without similar cracks is getting harder (read that $$$)
If yours has 'swing pedals', check the pivot area real close for wear. Big source for
hard pedal push..
