Born in Stockholm, Sweden, Ann-Margret seemed destined for stardom from the start, but she worked for success. As a teen, she gained notoriety on "Ted Mack's Amateur Hour" in 1957, singing "Mack the Knife." Marilyn Monroe and George Burns were among those who encouraged her to persevere. She rocketed to national prominence in the '63 movie version of "Bye, Bye, Birdie," then starred with Elvis in "Viva Las Vegas," '64. The two enjoyed Ann's passion during filming breaks: motorcycling. More good roles came in succession, including "Kitten With a Whip" with John Forsythe, "The Cincinnati Kid" with Steve McQueen, and "Murders' Row" with Dean Martin, with time out to do USO tours in Vietnam where she an Bob Hope had great on-stage chemistry. Suffice it to say, that she, and her carerr, are still going strong! She met and fell for Roger Smith ("77 Sunset Strip"). Married in '67, they remain one of Hollywood's real "dream couples."

Yeah, AstroChimp! Everybody remembers Raquel Welch in the classic color shot of her in a rabbit-skin bikini for "One Million BC," Hammer 1966. But those producers were just mimicking Ursula in '62's "Dr. No"!

Don't get me wrong, I LOVE Raquel. But Ursula Andress is one of THE top 10 femme fatales of the screen -- in ANY era!

The shot of Raquel, above, that was turned into posters
for many a young guy's room. Below, French version
    of the '66 movie poster.

Serene and beautiful night winter shot, WVaEnfield & NovaDude.
Great thread, and shots like this just make it greater. Everybody
has BEEN in a scene similar to this and, maybe, MISSED the wonder.
For my money, JUST as keen as any wild scene Ansel Adams ever
    shot out west. Thanks.

A quick snap from a '54 wall Calendar ( HOME SAVINGS & LOAN ASSOCIATION OF LOS ANGELES ) of a beauty who, to me anyway, looks remarkable like Norma Jean pre going Blonde??
