This is a great thread! I remember many of these shots from my old mags, now long gone. There was one car in particular I was hoping to see here. It was a Vicky with dazzling green and gold flake over an emerald green base. Made a big impression on me back in the mid 60's, but I haven't seen it since. It was a cover car, but I can't remember which mag. If any of you gentlemen should happen across the issue I'd love to see that paint again!

Who me? No emerald green/ heavy flake. This is a paint job that really grabs ya, to the point that it all I remember about the car. I think it had American Mags, but any more detail is lost in my memory banks.

At first I thought you were thinking of Don Thelens car, but now I think I recall the car you are talking about. Had M/T wheels on the front? I think I have that article, I will try to find it.

I have hunted high and low for the car I was thinking of, and come up empty. I KNOW I saw a car other than Thelens loosely fitting that description in a late sixties Hot Rod, I haven't checked all of them yet, but I have checked probably 90% of what I have. If I run across it by accident, I will post it.

1950s was a 'quiet' time for customised Austin Sevens but here's an American Austin Business Coupe that made it to the mags.

Man, what a trip down memory lane! Thanks to all who have posted.

On RB's post #282 there's a maroon 28/29 highboy on 32 rails that just knocks me out. I remember going nuts over this car the first time I saw it in a mag before I was old enough to drive. To me, it has always epitomized everything I've loved about hot rods since I was a kid, and it made my day today to see it again.
RB, you got any more pics or info on it?

First off, a BIG thank you to RBANTIQUE (and everyone else) for taking the time to post these photos.

My late grandfather, Bill Bronson built a dragster which was photographed in a couple of little mags...
