Opposite ends of the building but a photo of the two cars next to each other would be neat before or after the event.

More great news everyone. We just approved another contemporary but extremely period correct early styled custom. Dave York will have his Lime Gold '49 Ford Shoebox in the display. Its radical chop, removed driprail,Kaiser Bumper guards, killer Wally Welch/Ayala Bros. inspired fender/headlight treatment , and much more made it a no brainer when considering the car which is coming all the way from Canada! Congrats Dave!

Watch out for the Red Roof Inn in San Dimas, not a safe place for your car or Family, our office is next store (lots of drugs and drunks)

An Addition to the list would be The Holiday Inn Express
    485 W. Arrow Hwy
    San Dimas (909) 305-2323

    Or across the street:

    Motel 6
    502 W. Arrow Hwy
    San Dimas (909) 592-5631

Just about 10 minutes from the Fairplex east on Arrow Hwy

I hear ya! I can't believe that's the same car. Maybe someday it'll get restored.

Plane tickets are way high as of right now. Not looking good for me to come out this year which sucks because this display is looking to be incredible.

  10. Wow this list of cars is getting more serious everyday. What better way to start the new year off then to be in the same room hanging out and with all these customs. This for me is like ... going to the Academy Awards but with all of the best actors from all different era`s at one single show.

And John Fishers 36 and Dave Yorks 49 are great additions. Jeff, care to announce the historic custom that is said to still exist? Ya never know, maybe someone knows the owner and his whereabouts.

  12. Right on Dave! Your car is a real beauty!

well we are about 2 weeks out on paint on the Gator, poor old lumpy custom but boy what blocking a car out does for it and the lines of the car.

Thats awesome news Mike. What tiny updates the car ever had will be long gone after your restoration is completed. White pinstriping and anti ding guards removed, right? Thats an awesome historic custom that deserves its place in this prestigious display. Axle

Thanks Axle, we are working hard, we have stuff out at chrome, lots of work we found the right trim for it that it had in 57 and have it fit, ordered the tires, getting ready to take the doors and trunk led off so we can prep the jams. funny thing about this car is it still has the org green paint under all that gold. You know he bought the car new in 51. well we took a brake, back to sanding

Not that Im anything of importance in the custom car world, Id like to just say that I think all parties involved in this are doing a wonderful job. I wish I had something to contribute as far as knowing where there was something good for someone to bring! Usually I would have been babbling a mile a minute. I dont know whether its deterioration or just not knowing anything but I cant think of a single way to make this already killer show any better. Maybe the Fred Steele merc in New Hampshire that was originally done by Paul Vigilant in Jersey? Anyway..GREAT JOB GUYS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
