Hey what's up guys. I'm new here doing some research for a rod i plan to start assembly on in the spring. First i gotta sell the Buell though . Anyway, just thought i'd say hey and i'm looking forward to seeing the projects that you all post up about!
Thanks for the welcomes everyone! I'm 20 and have all of my experience in new cars. I'm a student at CU denver for mechanical engineering. This will be my first "old school" project. I've just gotten bored with new cars honestly. I've built an all motor fwd class Honda for bandimere speedway, built my own swapped '02 civic si that i drive daily, and have aided in the build of a 1000+ HP vw r32 that we took out for a trip to the salt flats this past summer. I've always wanted to work on something 2-3 times as old as i am, and i figure when's a better time then now? Thanks again for the welcomes, and i look forward to being around.
Welcome aboard the H.A.M.B. from Des Moines, Iowa! There is alot of knowledge to learn around. As a tip for the FNG, be sure to use the search button before posting any questions.
Welcome! I like those R32's, my wife almost bought one a few years back but ended up getting a Volvo C30 instead. Have fun starting on your hot rod, they are much more enjoyable to work on than newer cars!
I'll definitely remember to use the search button. Thanks for the heads up! Those R32's are fun. Those VR6's just sound so purty. However, the first time you pull a transmission out of one you want to bash your head in haha. I love the simplicity of older motors. New cars are becomming less and less fun to work on as time goes on.
