been looking at a few 60's style rods and seems a few had 'names' has anybody got a few pics of how the names were displayed on the car itself? I have kind of worked out a name for my car, but I'm not sure if I should get it put on the car or just the 'idiot board' display sign at shows etc. the car is a lime-gold sort of colour, would gold-leaf work on it? does anybody know a site where I could have a look?
Mine kind of named itself because of my physical situation, and I've always been a big fan of Barris'"Kopper kart" so I stole the lettering style from him and used it on my tailgate.I also had a show board done as I wanted to give credit to all the people who did the work on my kart, as I was physically unable to do it myself. Don't let anyone else tell you otherwise, show car names and show board's are way traditional and way cool good luck Paul
hey kripfink...thanks! if you look at my avatar pic you'll see its a 32 sedan in a limegold sort of colour so the name I am thinking is 'Lime Deuce' I thought maybe on the back somewhere. keep ém coming please
You could also call it Lime Krate in reference to the Orange Krate. Green Go (looks pretty speedy) A lady's name (I'm partial to 4 syllable names) A song ***le A nickname A verb (P***ion, Rauous, Sour)
Not to hyjack this thread, but does anyone have anymore info on this car? Those antennas are bad ***!
I had a '64 Impala back in the day, lime green...and lettered "Gangrene" (as in the medical term of infection), in gold, on the lower portion of the top, each side...it always got a lot of looks. On your Deuce, I'd put it between the front door edge and the engine compartment...but I'd find another name other than "Lime Deuce"...that decribes it very well, as most people could see...but get a little more creative with it.... To wit: Lime soda, limeade, Limefire (there was a paint named this...think Cadillac), Limetime (been done a couple of times, I think), Pure Antifreeze, Sour goodness, etc. R-
" Sublime " (Sublime) def. : noble; exalted; majestic inspiring awe or admiration through grandeur, beauty, etc. .
did you hear that sound? That was the unmistakable noise that a hammer makes when it strikes a nail firmly on the head. If I owned your car (which I don't) that's the name it would be wearing! Gold leaf on both rear side windows would look great. Sublime suggestion Paul
