women were commonly used to pilot the newly completed bombers such as the B-17's to their airfield destinations during World War II. These gals and the ones on the factories were a major part of what it took to secure victory over those who wished to harm us. That was when America worked hand-in-hand with each other to guarantee victory. Everyone did their part, from rationing of food, shoes, tires, gasoline to growing their own vegetables in their "Victory Gardens".
Today Americans are to busy shopping at the malls and playing video games to be concerned about what our troops are doing. Pretty sad.
HAMBers and gearheads are usually much better at supporting our ongoing efforts to maintain freedom.

OK, So, from post #13203, anyone recognize these guys? Are they anyone we should remember? Or just the local band playing at someone's wedding reception at the Legion Hall?

An example of the wire cage which East Poplar borough council in London proposed to fix to the outside of their tenement windows, so that babies could benefit from fresh air and sunshine. January 27, 1934.
