Wow not really my style (most t buckets aren't). But damn man I have to commend you craftsmanship and ingenuity.
Very cool bucket!! I would love to see some up close pictures of the motor.... Including the fuel injection intake manifold.... Thanks!
I have always loved the low slung T-bucket. I always thought they had a meaner / sportier look to them. Two I recall off the top of my pointy head was a minimalist style bucket running a flathead and open gearbox that was featured on Pop Rod back in the mid to late 70's and a Corvair powered rod from back in the early 70's. The Corvair powered rod had great symetry and lines, especially with the heads and carbs hanging out side the frame rails.
The answers to most of the where did you get, or whos are those... will be It/they were made for the car. There is VERY little off the shelf stuff on this one.
Aint that the truth. Hours and hours of figuring and trying stuff out. The steering column took me 120 hours alone. Thats what roddin is all about, I love very minute of it. Its great when something works out and looks OK as well. Just starting on the fuel tank, but thats another story. Simple and normal it aint Gerry
Kudos Gerry! You've built an awesome T that inspires nostalgic visions of Dan Woods and Danny Eichstedt and inspires us all today.
Looks like Im in good company. It was inspired by those exact people. I have mailed Danny a few times about LST and he has been really helpful. I would like to say this is not a copy of those Rods, just the T I always wanted. Its taken 18 years so far, and i hope to get it rollin next year in its raw state Gerry
Cool I ve just spent 10 mins looking at these 2 pics. Dan creations are rare and any pictures I can get hold of are a bonus. I have all the well know ones, but there must be a few that are still out there. Thats soooo purdy Gerry
Here are a couple more Dan Woods T's from when we worked together. Sorry I can't remember the car owners names. Yours is looking great.
It looks beautifully made. How are the rear springs activated - I can't see the connection between the brackets and the hub / lower arm?
AWESOME T !! I love them fad-Ts cos they got lots n lots of character...is your body steel or f/glass?
glass. tin Ts bodies in the UK. very rare. It has been changed a might by lengthening and a few other things. I have glassed a floor in which is as smooth underneath as the body is on top. Gerry
Very cool looking.........the seventies here in the valley was full of those kind of T's, makes you wonder where they are.
Hi Gerry, caught you over here, eh? Hope your making friends and influencing people. Might as well show your whole hand now, don't hold anything back. The friendly pressure will make you work quicker to finish the T. See you over at the "other" site. Welcome to this site. John
Is that cool looking thing going to pass the various inspections and such needed to be designated as street legal over there?
Hi OFJ Thought i would try it out and see for myself. Friendly pressure... thats a new one. I look forward to it. I feel like a very small fish over here. Kind of nervous about posting pic of the Fad to so many people. G
That is one cool car! vary nice work. I built my last car (in England) with the wheel on the wrong side, with ideas it might sell easier on the continent, if the day came, but I sold it unfinished, to a guy in England.... best laid plans etc.
I really like the front suspension, but I don't quite understand how it's setup and how it works. I would love to see some closeups of that front end setup if you have some.
more mojo fad T. I hate early T's, I have a 27 myself, but I dont mind saying that thing is SICK. That rear especially. Don't be scared to post man. You are great. i am nervous to post after seeing this. In the words of Jerry lee " it's hard to follow a killer".
Awe common Gerry ... dont be shy ... give up the pictures of the hand built stuff!! Gerry is a very capable fabricator rthere are scores of examples of his handywork on this car. Ron
This may interest some of you. Not a fan of steering boxes so the T has a rack. Its mounted directly under the column and gives a push pull to the steering arm. This way I still get the trad look of the Old ts and great steering to boot. Gerry
