Vintage shots from days gone by!

    Here is a shot of downtown Pittsburgh in the early 60's. The yellow brick building on the left is the old Pittsburgh Press, a Scripps-Howard newspaper which went out of business in 1992 due to a strike. :( The red and white lighthouse on the top is the Scripps logo trademark. The building now is home to the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette. :)

    That's some crazy footage. I'm surprised I've never seen it in any WWII documentaries.

    guess I figured wrong, glad you like it.. suppose it's nice for a change of pace.
    is that Glenn playin, or is it a Glenn Miller song being played by someone else?

    Link's photos were all planned ahead of time. He'd synchronize a "ton" of flashbulbs to get the effects he did.

    I think I recently read and article which indicated that there was only one US WWI veteran left, an ambulance driver. I think Great Britain's last WWI vet died a year or so ago.
