Yes knowing when to quit made this El Camino one of the BEST.
When I built my 57 Buick used the same rules.
    MILD chop
    DON'T change orginal design
    Clean up design only
    LOWER
    YES I chose silver too
    SPECIAL HUBCAPS
    WIDE whitewall tires

You can buy them new, they're $75 a piece.

Paul's El Camino is a future cl***ic. I wanna chop mine so bad. I sent Paul an e-mail but haven't gotten a response, he only has 2 posts on the HAMB, which means he's out there building **** instead of yakking away about what he's gonna build.

Hats off to you sir, you did good.

    looks really good!
I am guessing it has a hardtop/convertible windshield, that is the easiest way to chop a gm sedan, gets you 2-2.5 inches, and you don't have to mess with cutting the gl***

    COOL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I wonder if there is any chance of seeing a build up thread or photos, I had to look twice at Bad Bobs photos on aanother post before I realised it had been chopped, somehow it looked too good for a stock cab. By how much has the top been chopped?

Please can we see some more pictures!!

    BE-A-UTIFUL CAR!

I kept thinking that maybe it should have had a small sign on the roof indicating that the roof line had been lowered. haha

Hell it took me a couple of looks before I figured what was different.

Smooth and clean... i dig the hell out of those el caminos and I really like the tail lights. I wanted to run them on my sedan until i figured out just how big they were. Killer ride

  10. I walked by it a few times before it hit me that it was chopped. I did notice tailights first but kept looking to see if gate could still open:p
Very clean ride. Smooth lines, nice color. Wonder what he will do next??

Beautiful car! Outstanding work on that chop!

Slammed on the ground though really highlights the narrow track on the '59 Chevy versus the Wide Track '59 Pontiac!

    Beautiful. Very nice job!

Love 59' (only) El Camino's. Looked for one before my current car.

Have to agree, I like the original grille and tail lights.

    ANY condition?

    I have a spare project 59.

Actually pretty strait and rust free, particularly for a car that had a dash fire.
Frame needs some repair, but they are easy to find, or you can "Wrap" it for greater strength.

No gl*** or gauges, but I know where to obtain gauges and pods.
Roof is a little warped, I was thing of making a roadster El Camino out of it.

Great car for a custom project, no need to F'up a good restoration candidate.
CA car, one piece front bumper, rear bumper and tail gate missing, but I know where some can be had.

Like I said, major project, but CHERRY compared to what I see being offered for sale back east. :D

Great chop-I like the way the stainless trim on the side is like a mirrior and adds a bit of color as it reflects the sky or its' surroundings.

Paul did another chop on this car since these pix were taken. Not sure how much more he took out but it is no longer subtle. He cuts his own gl*** too - pretty incredible. He will rough in a chop for $1K.
