Here's my 53 in the chrome wheel phase. I change it up depending on my mood for that cruise.

I've always liked chrome wheels so I had to have them on my coupe.

I love chrome rims without hubcaps! Totally late 50's early 60's!

A better pic....old Jeep wheels... 8" wide, going to be going to some 12x15 steelies next, for a better foot print!

My '58 Ford had chromed reversed wheels. They were on the car when I bought it in 1968. I only paid $200 for the car. It had a 292 with a 3-speed. I wound up installing a 427 low-riser and a 4-speed. Neat car till I exploded the flywheel while street racing late that same year. Yes, I did have a blow proof bellhousing and it saved my feet.

Now I know who bought these wheels from me at the 2010 Twin City Roadster Swap.
I bought them at the 2009 Roadster swap for the same reason as you. My Avatar is my 55 Ford Wagon running chrome reverse wheels. 15x6 in the rear and 14x6 in the front. I hope you find a use for them.

You knew they were going to a good home. I didn't think I would ever see them again after passing on them the first time around. I thought I might run into you here on the HAMB. You'll be the first to know once I get a Chevy II to bolt the wheels onto. Thanks for deciding to sell them. I kicked myself for not grabbing them the first time.

These are the most beautiful set of wheels in the world, and that photo shows them off pefectly.

I have seen mention of a feature in a magazine - early '70s Rod & Custom maybe - about building reverse rims? Anyone got a scan of it?

Dam, what are the chances of that? Weird coincidence! Your luck finding them seems to be better than mine since I haven't been able to find any at all!:D
BTW, im a fan of steel wheels in general, im surprised a thread similar to this wasn't started a while ago.. Great thread you started here!

Ya know who has one of the nicest sets of Chrome Wheels ever and they look even better in person? Brian Bass' coupe and whether it's because they are 16" or the fact that the chrome is really nice they just stand out amongst the rest.

I think they were plated in Mexico, that might have something to do with it.
