A while ago I started searching for my high school car. Still had the vin number. I was wanting to try to buy it back. Found out it was wrecked about 2 weeks after I sold it and was totalled. It was a limited edition 75 Camaro RS, not on topic for this site, but would love to have it back now. Anyone find their car from high school???
Sold it to a guy who had more money than I thought it was worth at a time when I was a bit desperate. It is now completely redone (not Hamb friendly) and has a nice comfy garage to stay in. He did the car right even if I don't quite like his choices on some things.
Mine was a restored 210 '57 Chevy. The buyer met my father at his work & then followed him to my school to get the car. Last time I saw it, it was leaving my high school parking lot headed to Chicago with dad driving, two VERY happy little boys in the backseat, & mom following in a minivan. Hope they enjoyed it as much as I did. The rest of my day was spent in an absolute knot waiting to go pick up my '32 5wd project. JH
I traded my first car, 1939 Ford Coupe, for a Corvette, 1960 w/straight axle. Neither were finished. The guy I traded the Ford to sold it to my neighbor. Who then sold it to a guy that made dirt track, we called them "stock cars". So I guess it's LONG gone as this was 1966. Bill
My first car bounced off of the front of a Pontiac, through a snowbank, and into the side of a building. It was then shredded and shipped overseas. I'm pretty sure it came back as a Yugo. No, I don't want it back now.
Still got mine after forty years. 1955 Chevy 210 2 door sedan with a 327 and four speed but not the 327 it came with. It kind of got blown up.
Still got mine. I sold it but then hearing upon it's fate as a demo car I bought it back. I plan on fixing it up sometime this winter. It is an OT AMC AMX.
My first car was a 71 superbeetle. I t-boned a 70-something Ford pickup so hard it ripped all four fenders, with the running boards still attached to them, off and put all three of us that were in it through the windshield. It ripped the hood off and the whole front suspension went under the truck and was scattered everywhere. Fuck'in mess to say the least! My next car was a 56 oval window deluxe sun roof bug that someone put a baja kit on and a one piece tilt fiberglass hood. That was in 84. I still got it, it'll never go away.
I sold mine (1968 Camaro convertible) to a good friend of mine back in '78 and he ended up restoring it and added all the SS/RS equipment on it including power windows and a power top.. The car is beautiful and he keeps it in a heated garage.. I just seen the car last week when I went by to visit him... Each time I see it, I get bummed..
still own my 57 chevy 2dr htp had over 26 years thanks to every older guy at a gas station when I was a kid ......That said i wish i had mine !!! that stuck in my head over the last 26 years
First car I ever bought was a '68 Hurst Olds, one of 515. Bought in '76 sold in '07 to an Olds restorer in Ohio
It's about 10 feet away from me. It gathers dust and I only start it a couple times a year but it is registered and has insurance.
19 years later and still have it. 60 Falcon 2 door sedan with a 200 six, split header, biggest Isky cam I could find and a 2 barrel carb adapter. It was pretty quick for a six. Now I have it sitting in my back 40 just waiting for me to love on it again!
Where did my first car go? Anywhere I wanted to go. I bought it in 1967. Its a 1947 Mercury and I put a 392 Hemi in it. I drove it for many years and it has been parked in my backyard ever since. Yep I've had it 43 years so far
I still have mine too. 22 years now. 1969 Dodge Charger. Bought it for $800 and have had sooooo many people try to buy that car over the years. I doubt it will ever go anywhere. Im going to have to do some work to it when I get back from Afghanistan this time. Its kinda in line behind my 46 Dodge truck hot rod project, my 89 Ram 50 race truck, and my 70 Challenger, but, the point is... its still there! Laine.
