As a person whose car was stolen, stripped, recovered, then confronted the thieves (who were friends of mine ???!!!), got all the parts back, and finally negotiated a payment from my "friends" to pay for the repair and reinstall of the parts, I congratulate you on recovery of your 35. However, allow me to be the devils advocate here and say there is a distinct possibility that the theft was purely a matter of opportunity (given the ease in which the truck was stolen). Also the fact that the trailer was not broken into would appear that the thieves did not know what was in the trailer and didn't really care. I could also postulate that the thieves weren't effected by the internet blitz because they didn't even know the blitz was on. There is a distinct possibility that the thieves are not internet savy, there fore were not intimidated or pressured to ditch the truck/trailer combo. The combo was split up and was probably cooling off for a while, then would have been moved.

Blind luck the truck was found, blind luck the trailer (and its cargo) was found unmolested and I don't think the thieves will be caught. And please don't hate me for this but I don't think the HAMB and its nation wide alert did anything. Except provide comfort and support at a time when it was needed. And most of the time that's all one can ask for.

  14. GREAT news. Thanks for coming back on, Troy, and letting us all know what has transpired. Happy to see that with a whole lot of hot-rodders on the case, a good outcome happens this time.

You are soo right.... Not only did Troy find the trailer, but he also found true love. The cute but slightly troubled girl that worked at the impound lot. Make's ya wanna cry.

Finally, a car theft story with a happy ending. Very glad to hear the 35 was cound intact. Too bad about the damage to the truck but very minor considering what could have happened! Congrats on getting the car back!
