Well this has been kept a secret long enough. I bought this 1951 Victoria from Andrew Severin the car was his Dads Carl Severin which was and is a special friend to me. Carl lost his life may 10 2007 and it is still hard today. In may this year Andrew confronted me to buy the car and I bought it. I told Andrew that I am going to customize this car...lower it, chop the top, two tone paint, white interior pleats and are you OK with that? He said the car could not be in better hands those are the things my Dad dreamed of doing and that was it. I have had the car since may this year and started working on it in june without Andrew knowing. Well I could not keep it secret anymore because today I bought some Sun instruments for my speed shop from Andrew and he insisted on helping me unload. Andrew seen the car and everyone was flowing tears he could not believe it was the same car. I talked to my wife while building the car and told her I did not want to post on the internet until Andrew has seen the car in bare metal. There are some special people here on the HAMB that has known about the car and I thank them dearly for keeping it hush. Now they can comment all they want. Thank you guys and thank you everyone that has sold me parts you know who you all are.
Well I have the pics of how it looks now and how it will look but I'll let the Skipper show you them or you can wait you see it in person. This might be the raddest custom built in a good long while. The chop is just f-ing amazing and the stance make me want to cry it's so beautiful. Great work Skipper, I am happy Andrew was happy for you and the car.
Now these are my own opinions of what a Victoria should look like because the tops are almost comical on how high they are. What do you think maybe 4 inches?
It's coming Gary and Andrew said he is going to give you hell for not saying anything. To everyone out there Gary Greeno is probably the most dearest friend of Carl's.
Ok, that's enough teasing, let's see some progress photos. A 51 Vic was supposed to be my first car until a guy who worked for my stepfather bought it from my mom and stepfather.
How late am I gonna have to stay up to tonite? We need some stripper music cause this is going to be a tease. Gary
While it's sad that your friend (his dad) is gone, what you're doing is really cool. Although you being a slowpoke about posting pics after telling us it's in bare metal, well, that's just cruel.
I think I just found my favorite Vic shoebox. That shows customizing at it's best when it will make a stocker sitting beside it look like it has something wrong with it. Nice work.
