    Yep, my grandad was part of that generation of working men
    who believed the myth that an occasional pull at a pocket flask
    of whisky would "warm you up." But hey, whatever gets you
    through a work day on a VERY hard job, right?

    I like the Chrysler Building in the background here. Completed
    in 1928, two years before the Empire State, the Chrysler Building
    beautifully exudes Art Nouveau elegance, as that mode was
    p***ing from the public fancy. The Empire State was more
    reflective of the emerging Art Deco movement.
