Discussion in 'The Hokey Ass Message Board' started by axle, Oct 1, 2010.

  1. Does anyone has a better picture of the shot in video 1 at 6:00 the girl standing on her heels by the 51 Merc? I think I am in love.

    Edit: Nevermind, I found it.

Bringing this topic back on top once again. The Dick McArdle Chevy - partly customized by Joe Bailon .

I used to see this car 20 years ago at not only Joe Bailons KKOA events but at Paso Robles as well. Haven't seen in a while and i'm desperately trying to locate it and the current owner. My gut feeling is that its still in northern California. Spoke to Rod & Custom collector John Labelle but he doesn't know .

Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

Can someone from a California automotive registration business run the above plates?

Just confirmed another amazing piece of American customizing history.
The "Tommy Lee" Special. Originally a 1936 Ford that was totally customized and raced in 1937. It has been to Muroc, Bonneville, as well as major shows throughout the west. Powered by a 316 cubic inch Offy engine . All body panels were fabricated by Curtis .

Car is owned by Fred Philips of Calgary Alberta Canada ,

    Enjoy the pictures.

Hi Marshall, It depends. What kind of condition will the car be towards the end of January? Thats a neat car and you most definitely have my attention. I just need more info on the current status of the car - will it be put together? Thanks, Axle

Along with the Larry Watson display (including 4 Watson cars) we are going to recognize my ol friend Rich Pichette and West Coast Kustoms with a nice small display. Riches old 57 Chevy sedan delivery (now owned by Miles Metcalf) will be in attendance .

I read all the way through this thread and unless I missed it Dennis McPhail's '56 Chevy wasn't mentioned. I think it nails that late fifties/early sixties look. Here's a picture that Ryan posted in an article about Dennis a couple of years back.
