I work in Flint from time to time and it's very sad what has happened to all of our Automotive Towns in this State. When you think of all the families that were raised on the wages earned in those plants and now those jobs are long gone......So Sad!!!

BTW not to knock the song , but Kid Rock called and he would like his act back!!

Saginaw too, but there's a future as well, and I actually think things are getting better.

More Henry Leland, and less Henry Ford, and Michigan may start turning around again.

Been in Flint all my life, its tough to see what was once a hustle a bustle, GM town, turn into what it has over the last 10 years. The crime statistics may not show it, but there has been a bit of rebirth in the city, and it is a fantastic sight. I plan to stick around this town, I havent gave up on it yet... the "serial stabber" (who lived less than a mile from me), the economic woes, or the decreasing population, havent driven me out yet.

I think that the majority, if not all of the blame for the cities down fall, can be traced back to NAFTA.

  8. Ive been in flint all my life as well. Things have been pretty bleak but they are on the upswing. Though our crime rate is about to set a new record, things downtown are getting alot better. I work for a an architecture firm downtown and there has been alot of investment in downtown. I plan on sticking around.

That building they walk though thats all abandoned. This is it below and has apartments that i believe are all leased.
