Wow - just freakin WOW. love the top and bottom baby blue - would like to see that as a pearl with a white pearl center. I agree with moving the vent window pillar forward and I would love to see this with a cleaner grille area treatment with a floating Olds grille bar instead of the teeth....
Skip- You have a great vision for the custom, very few have that eye. My choice is this combination, it is subtle and allows all the lines to blend into the surrounding. Great Job [/QUOTE]
Wow .... Instant Cl***ic ! Amazing story and car , thanks for sharing .... Norwell's pic is called ROYALFLUSH ... Kinda says it all ....
I think its going to be one of my favorite shoe boxes built in present day... its pretty much AWESOME!!! Can't wait to take a cruz in it
I like all those color combo's but IMO the one Rikster Did that you were flashing us at all the shows is the one that makes my heart pitter patter... Blue Danube Style please.
Skip, I'm a bit behind on the post but the "out of the garage" profile is mindblowing!!! I knew it looked good while seeing the progress but seeing the big picture takes it to a whole other level. I don't usually exclaim over shoeboxes but this one made me say a few choice words. Simply amazing my friend.
Great looking car! If it were mine, I'd do it in a solid color (well, I already did) but I'd choose a metallic grey/silver that looked as close to this bare metal as I could get it: But if it's gotta be a 2-tone, I think this works the best. I think the lighter color on the top proportions the top better to the rest of the body: ...or a light-and-dark silver 2-tone, arranged like the blue car above.
That's what I'm talking about Rik!! I love the blue..beautiful!! Mr. Skipper I say stick to your original plan please #1 and #4 do it for me.
I hate to be the one to throw sand in the gears, Skip, but I just can't see this car in a light, bright color. I see it as more of a Sam Barris car than a George Barris car...if you know what I mean. Perhaps a deep metallic garnet, deep metallic green, deep metallic blue or even a dark non-metallic "burple" or Washington Blue... This would allow the car's cl***ic lines and perfect proportions to be seen and appreciated, rather than being overpowered by eyeball-searing color. $.02
Damn, I really like the Rikster blue version, and the green and creamed ******* version by Mr. Norwell, but just to be contrary, I'd like to see it black and gunmetal tu-toned. Whatever happens, this is gonna be a ridiculously cool car. Great story....good for you!
Wow! What a cool story and an amazing job. I'm usually not a big custom fan but this one sure has my attention. Just beautiful!!
I like it... especially the cad bumper... thats a whole different look than the rest of the colorings... puts the car into a whole new perspective for me
Beautiful car and a good story. I would love to see a rendition with the Hirohata Merc colors. All light light green with a dark roof, or all light green with dark green below the lower trim line.
Man, I love me some metallic old gold, and if that beautiful shoebox were mine, I would do the whole damn car! Sorry, but I can't photo shop worth a damn. Best of luck. Whatever your decision, it's going to be killer. Paul
