It'd be nice if people would post the degrees of motion on motors they found so we could compile a list.

I don't see why that wouldn't work. I did the slot thing so I might be able to go back the the vacc motor if this didn't work.

I saw that to. All the mini vans I saw have a lot of sweep to them.
I didn't look to closely at any imports, first gen s-10s are a dime a dozen around here.

I used the rear hatch wiper motor off of about a 2000 jeep cherokee. One speed and about a 3 second delay built into the circuit board on the motor.

Run one hot wire from a 20 amp fuse, one wire from a switch for the run function and one wire from a switch for the delay function.

I used a cheepo head light switch with only three terminals so I can pull it out one knotch to run and all the way out to delay and the knob screws off so I can put on the knob if my choice.

Only modification I had to make to the stock linkage was to make the linkages on the wiper arms about 1/4" longer to cut down on the travel a bit.

The housing on the jeep motor was about 2" too long so I took it apart and cut off the necessary amount. Also had to cut some off of the shaft. There is a bushing in the end of the housing I cut off that had to be removed and put back in the new end. Used a little epoxy since the bore in the housing was a few thousands larger than the original end.

    Heres a few pictures

Great thread. Anyone find a cheap way to do this with the cable type setup that the motor will fit under the dash? I wonder if the jeep motor would work and put the drums that were on the original settup on the motor shaft would work

  11. A bump and I have a motor here out of an Isuzu Trooper, circa 1990, that may also work. I just pulled it from a car a buddy got to s**** because it was small, it may even be the same thing as a Blazer - I got digging in it and under the skin the thing was the same as an S10, had a GM 2.8L TBI V6 engine anyhow.

to make them 2 speed, operate them from a 2 position switch like a heater blower motor switch. One position will be 12V(hi speed) & 2nd. position will be(6V) lo speed. It will work with any auto 12V motor

I just got one question , I know how the vacuum motor mounts , so I'll know where to put the angle on the car , but , how does the wiper motor mount to the angle ? , will that be kinda self explanitory when I go get the motor? , and BTW , which year Blazer did you pull the wiper motor from?

Ratroddude, I'm not following you on what angle your thinking about?

The motor I used is off a first gen s-10 (the square ones) early 80's to mid 90's ish.
