Thank you for posting! I wished I could have attended, but I couldn't so I was spreading the word, too. Have you posted any photos?

The turnout was huge and a testament to Bo Huff's esteem in the community. There were clubs from all over the west. Cars and bikes were rolling in all day. There were great bands all day. Some awesome artwork was sold during intermission to raise money for Bo's treatment. The volunteers that put this together did an awesome job.

Gasoline Gallery and West Coast Kustoms along with dozens of other faithful vendors were on hand as well. The Dead Sleds were everywhere helping out. Those guys are cool! Anna Marco and her team did a fantastic job of bringing it all together and keeping it all running smoothly. Big Toe (Tom Laura) was helping out with the art sales as well.

They used to say the same thing about Roth. And like Roth, Ian has some really interesting ideas. Not everyone's cup of tea, I know....especially on a place like The HAMB. Gotta give him props for his workmanship, tho.

Just like Roussel would never copy anything Roth built. I think my point went a little over your head....I was just saying they seem to have the same crazy vision of doing something different, without concern of what other people think. Besides, If Ed could have lived another hundred years, who knows what he would have done? Did you know him personally?

Great show, I donated a piece, but wasn't able to attend. Can we get back on track with the show? How Bo is doing etc, and quit bashing other peoples rides? Tis the Season, be nice, if you can.

Roth didn't cut up innocent sedans, he made his own stuff out of 'gl***. Shame that poor old car couldn't defend itself. There's no way to un-**** that thing when the trends change.

Thanks Fang, amazing how nearly every post on the HAMB gets side tracked. I hope all of our contributions helped. Just like the stolen car posts, and other posts, positive comments help. We should all do what we can, for the day may come when we are in the same situation.

I do not know much about it other than it was being photgraphed like carazy and that it was indeed a clever well thought out and crafted work of art. Every piece on it was beautiful it itself. The spoke/spinners are actually old wooden spokes probably from the original wheels. If you can't dig it that doesn't mean it's a piece of **** - just means you don't dig it. I have seen worse. I try and say something positive or else why bother. A lot of work went into that machine - stylized ?

Bo Huff needs help - this guy came out to help unless that's one of Bo's own. It was parked mighty close in.

This guy isn't a car / hot rod builder, but more an artist who's medium is old car parts. His creations may run and drive, but function seems to always follow form, so his machines end up in no way a usable automobile.

Most of Roth's stuff was similar as far as functionality, but I think Roth had more originality. Most of Ian's stuff that I've seen seems to just push the "rat rod" aesthetic (sp) afew degrees further, but with nice workmanship. That's all fine with me, It's just not my cup of tea.

The only thing that really bugs me about this deal is that Ian and his work are often touted as an integral part of the hot rodding scene, when in reality they are a part of the avant garde art scene that kinda resembles hot rodding.

Really? Because he drove it in. Can't call that useless, especially when I've seen mild customs trailered in.

Funny, because most of his rides are very functional. I don't see why someone's always gotta ***** about something in a thread that is meant to show coverage for a man who has done a lot for this industry and is going through treatments for stage 3 cancer. In this case,I have to follow advice my dad gave me for certain situations "If you ain't got something nice to say, then such your damn pie hole". There was stuff I thought didn't belong there, but I'm not going to trash anyone, because we were all there for the same cause.

P.S.:Who gives a ****? Really? I didn't know hot rodding was a scene,I always thought it was a way of life.

First I want to wish Bo and his family well. Second Ians taste might not be to ones liking but what he builds he puts his heart into it. As long as people are talking about you business stays good. If you think he can't build kool **** check out his new avatar. He is HAMB member V818.
