  1. No, not "nostalgia" cars. the real deal.
Injected FED small blocks. Let's see all the nameless diggers from Lions! Dig out those old photo's and share your memories!
Come on guys! Back to the 60's and low cost fuel racing!

Here's my favorite - and arguably the most successful jr. fueler of all time - the original Allison & Crow car that set and re-set the low ET and speed records for the class when in its prime.

The motor was built by Fred Crow, a well-known SoCal racer who worked for Mickey Thompson. It used one of the very first aluminum block Chevies. This particular block came from one of M/T's personal corvettes.

Fred went on to manage Hays clutches, and later Simpson Safety Equipment. He now owns Crow Enterprizes and manufactures a full line of safety equipment. In 2006, Fred was inducted into the Hall of Fame at the NHRA California Hot Rod Reunion.

Chili Phil mentions light weight. This car weighed UNDER 800 lbs! It was essentially unbeatable in its day.

Tragically, the car was destroyed (on the very pass shown in the black & white photo) when it crashed at Carlsbad. Driver Ed (the Lizard) Allison, was rendered comatose and although he lived for some 18 years afterward, never regained conciousness.

A clone of the car was raced some years later - also with great success - under the names of Allison, Crow, and McCarrell.
